Counter To The Comments Of Rajasekhar

chiranjeevi-rajasekhar-jeevitha_prob
Dr. Rajasekhar,
Cine Actor.

Today I have seen the lengthy letter and comments made by you pouring venom on Mega Star Chiranjeevi. First of all better note that human history is the combination of good and bad people. During Thretayuga, Lord Sree Rama also had an opponent in the form of Ravana. While crores of people admired and followed Mahatma Gandhi, there were thousands of people to find fault with him. When lakhs of people worship Sri Satyasai Baba as God, hundreds of people are always there to criticize him badly. MGR was there, M.R.Radha was also there (I heard that Radha shot MGR). NTR was there, people who throw chappals on him were also there. Likewise, it is not a big surprise if Chiranjeevi has opponents due to various reasons.

I am 46 years old employee in a multinational company and a hardcore fan of Mega Star.Chiranjeevi. Even though I am far away (outsider) from the film field and politics, I am a keen observer of politics and film politics, for the last 30 years, through media only.

First of all keep in mind that no actors (except late Rao Gopala Rao) joined NTR when he floated Party. Rao Gopal Rao was the only film person to follow NTR from the beginning. I remember it was only after NTR became CM, then all these so-called brothers gathered around him. You can check this with any of the senior actors. After two years, some actors started making movies also criticizing him, like what some people are doing now. So, when you are commenting about actors support to Chiranjeevi, you should know history also.

Chiranjeevi is fortunate enough to have lakhs of fans from all sections of people – rich, poor , literate, illiterate, etc. Don’t misunderstand that we like him blindly. We have been watching his statements, his body-language and his acts, for the last 30 years. People moving in the same filed may not understand and some of them may be blind and may be having mindless hatred against him due to various reasons. But, we are not like that. It is the strong opinion of majority of public that all the comments being made by you and some other people are only out of unbearable professional jealousy.

Reasons for our liking and forming a good opinion on Mega Star and my feedback on the nasty tendencies of some people

Rajashekar: Chiranjeevi ‘oka meka vanne puli’

rajashekar1238613255

Actor Dr Rajasekhar has alleged that both the Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, and the Praja Rajyam chief, Chiranjeevi, were adopting “back-stabbing” techniques from the bestseller 48 Laws of Power penned by Robert Greene.

Writing in his wife’s blog “Rajasekharam”, the actor, who is now campaigning for the Congress, termed Chiranjeevi a “wolf in sheep’s clothing”.

Here is Rajasekhar writes about Chiranjeevi:

“As I know, Chiranjeevi always hid behind a veil of hypocrisy. The actor is spinning another tale, this time political. I have no problem if Chiranjeevi or his brother enter the political arena. The country has seen the likes of NTR and MGR emerge as chief ministers after their successful career in movies. But the comparison ends there. MGR and NTR were a different breed. They had a special connect with the people. They were not shallow and hypocritical. They practiced what they preached.

The humble drama
I laughed at the inaugural speech of the megastar in Tirupati when he claimed that he had humble beginnings and ate ganji during his youth. These are his exact words: “I survived in Madras with less than Rs 100 per month. People need a person from such background to lead them. My roles in cinema always represented weaker sections.” That was an awesome performance in real life too!!! He doesn’t stop there. He wallows in self-pity.

Here is another example :”I am from a very humble background. We had just five acres of land. My father was a police constable.” So what if his father was a police constable? So what if he had just five acres of land? How many artistes are struggling to make both ends meet? Did he ever make an attempt to wipe out the tears from their faces? Does he know the background of artistes in the film industry?

What help did he offer to the legendary actor Kanta Rao’s family or for that matter any artiste who died in penury? All of us had humble beginnings. I used to help my mother in milching milk, sell eggs and make pidakalu (cow dung cakes) to ease her burden. I get tears when I recall those days. But I have done no favour to my mother by helping her. What has his humble beginnings got to do with social justice and all that jazz? Has he counted the number of cars he has? Where did this money come from? Does he even show his gratitude to the masses who made him what he is now? They idolise and worship him, but what do they get in return? Not even a hand wave from his Benz/BMW tinted glasses.

Party of Pawan Kalyan, for Nagababu, by Allu Aravind

I had a hearty laugh when he stated that “My party is of the people, for the people and by the people.” Well, Chiranjeevi, your party is of Pawan Kalyan, for Nagababu and by Allu Aravind. His another pearl, “I take an oath in the name of Lord Venkateshwara that I will be with you. You don’t need a leader. You need a servant. It is my motive. I want to restore the honour of politics.” Such blatant lies.

Has he forgotten how he treats his servants? Has he forgotten how he roughed up his car driver when he ate his left-overs? Or for that matter, how he treats his own family members, especially his daughters? What help did he render when his servant asked for mere Rs 50,000 for his daughter’s wedding? Leave alone giving the money, Chiranjeevi sacked the servant. So much for Samajika Nyayam!

Wolf In Sheep’s Skin
Chiranjeevi ‘oka meka vanne puli’ (a wolf in sheep’s skin). My blood boils when I see through his two faces. His inside and outside are deceptive. His another gem, “I don’t know politics. I can’t understand it. But I know the suffering of people.” Where was he when the farmers in the state were committing suicides? Where was he when weavers were ending their lives in Siricilla? He visited Siricilla after earning crores of rupees in the film industry and shed a few crocodile tears. Was he not aware of the weavers’ sufferings before he entered politics?

Bloody Lies
Another boastful statement, “I founded hundreds of blood and eye banks.” Whose blood is it anyway? Has he given it for free? Has he or his brother donated blood? The blood bank is the contribution of lakhs of his fans who revered and adored the man. But what gratitude does he have for them? Several people died in stampedes while buying his cinema tickets. What help has he offered to the kin of all those people who died in stampedes? Mr Chiranjeevi, your fans not only gave their blood but earned bread for you and your entire family. But in return what they get is your irreverence and utter contempt.

Social justice sham
Chiranjeevi’s social justice mantra is just to corner votes and not to render justice to the downtrodden. How can there be social justice as long as Praja Rajyam Party remains the private property of one family? Chiranjeevi has mastered the art of turning politics into business. To do real social justice is to give the deprived access to quality education, health care, employment opportunities and social security.

In his career spanning over 30 years, has he done anything in this direction? Leave social justice, what justice has he done to his native Mogalturu. He earned crores of rupees but hasn’t spent a penny for the development of his village. He sold a library in Mogalturu for Rs 3 lakh when some people approached him. ‘Samaji ka nyayam, em samaji ka nyayam? Fine, but does he have Manavatva nyayam?

No Friends
I ask Chiranjeevi how many of film artistes are supporting him? Can he name a few actors who are supporting him apart from his brothers Pawan Kalyan, Nagababu and brother-in-law Allu Aravind. This is because he has no credibility in the industry. Has he given chance to any new director? He behaves like a ‘sarva adhikari’ and crushed the careers of so many people.

48 laws to power
Chiranjeevi follows the book ’48 laws to power’ written by Robert Greene as a Bible. The book is full of “vennu potu” ideas. I saw the same book in the house of Chandrababu Naidu. I quote from the book: “Everything is judged by its appearance; what is unseen counts for nothing. Never let yourself get lost in the crowd, then, or buried in oblivion. Stand out. Be conspicuous, at all cost. Make yourself a magnet of attention by appearing larger, more colorful, more mysterious, than the bland and timid masses.” That sums up his personality.

The shame Guevara
His brother Pawan Kalyan thinks he is the reincarnation of Che Guevara. Beating up directors and fighting on streetes, pulling out revolver’s doesn’t make one a Che Guevara. Does he even know who Che Guevara is and what he stood for? It is a shame that Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan are misusing photographs of great personalities like Mother Teresa, Dr B R Ambedkar and the likes for their selfish political ends. Look at the irony, Chiranjeevi talks of Mahatma Gandhi who was a peace apostle while Che Guevara took the violent path to achieve his means.

Appeal to voters
I appeal to the voters to exercise their valuable franchise on the basis of development. I request the voters not to get carried away by filmi glamour and vote for a party that provides good governance. If you like your hero, please watch his movies three times or even 10 times, but don’t give away your vote cheaply. Is it worth to pledge the interests of our state in the hands of one family? Think about it.

chiranjeevi with honour.APJ Abdul Kalam
In January 2006, Mr Chiranjeevi was honored with the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award in India. In November 2006, Chiranjeevi was awarded with a honorary doctorate by Andhra University for his services to the Telugu film industry and for his social work, A P Govt Nandi Awards for Swayankrushi (1987) and Apatbandhavudu (1992). Over 10 Filmfare Awards won.

CHIRANJEEVI ENTRY TO THE TELUGU FILM INDUSTRY:

Chiranjeevi, the Megastar of Tollywood today, was born on 22nd August of 1955 in Mogalturu, a small village in ‘West Godavari’ District in Andhra Pradesh to Sri Venkat Rao and Anjana Devi. He grew up in his native village with his grand parents, while his family was elsewhere because of his father’s occupation. The sense of discipline and hard work which he still embraces were introduced at a very young age in his life and the tough childhood he had, being the eldest in his family, have helped him to handle many such events of higher proportion with great expertise in the later stages of his life.

Little did he imagine, even in the wildest of his dreams that he would, one day, be a Megastar and rule the Telugu Film Industry. Years later, this youngster, dearly called “Chiru” in the Film Industry, with his hard work and dedication to his profession could make it really big in the field hitting the limelight, with an unparallel fan following emulating his every act, word, dress and dance. What makes this ordinary human being such an extraordinary one – Hardwork and Dedication!

Varaprasad’s education was nomadic accounting to his father Venkat Rao’s frequent transfers to Ongole, Bapatla, Chirala, Nellore etc, which didn’t really defer Vara Prasad as he gained a great friend circle wherever he was. Varaprasad is really fortunate for his father has constantly encouraged him after having discovered the undaunted liking of his son towards cultural activities.

Varaprasad did his schooling in Nidadavolu, Gurajala, Ponnuru, Mangalagiri and Mogalturu. He also won first prize for his first performance as Parandamayya Panthulu. After high school, Varaprasad joined Bi.P.C in P.R.Sharma Jr. College at Ongole. Following that he finished his B.Com from Narasapur college.
After graduation, Varaprasad moved to Madras to seek a career in his chosen field of acting in the Film Industry. To get himself ready for the camera, he joined in a film institute. This was in 1977.

Varaprasad was offered the lead role in the film Punaadi Raallu, produced by Sheikh Abdul Khadir in the direction of Raj Kumar, which has laid the foundation stone to the acting career of Vara Prasad as Chiranjeevi. Even though Punadi Raalu was his first movie, it was Pranam Kareedhu that was his first release. Pranam kareedhu directed by K Vasu was released on September 22nd, 1978. The second movie to release was Manavuri Pandavulu from which Chiranjeevi started gaining recognition as hero among the spectators.

In the beginning of his career, Chiranjeevi donned villain roles in films like Kukka Kaatuki Cheppu Debba, Kotthapeta Rowdi etc. His focused concentration in speedy dance movements, risky hair rising fights evoked immense response from the spectators.

Chiranjeevi tied the wedding knot to Surekha, daughter of eminent yesteryear comedian Allu Ramalingayya, on 20th of February, 1980. The auspicious time was 11:50 AM. The couple is blessed with 2 daughters, Susmitha and Srija and a son, Ram Charan Teja.

Films like ‘Kothala Raayudu’, ‘Punnami Naagu’, ‘Mogudu Kaavali’, ‘Kiraayi Rowdeelu’, ‘Subhalekha’, ‘Maga Maharaju’, ‘Intlo Raamayya-Veedhilo Krishnayya’, ‘Abhilasha’, ‘Manthri Gaari Viyyankudu’ etc are the super-hits in his first phase.

‘Khaidi’, released in 1983, gave Chiranjeevi a thrusting progress towards a commercial career. His fights and dance movements in this film are still a rage among the movie lovers. He never looked back after this. The films ala Goonda, Donga, Nagu, Adavi Donga, Yama Kinkarudu, Kirathakudu, Rusthum proved his fighting skills in action roles. He is referred to as Dynamic hero during that time.

The films ala Vijetha, Magadheerudu, KondaveetiRaja, Chantabbayi, Challenge, Rakshasudu, DongaMogudu showed his versatility in performance.

The film Pasivadi Pranam, released in 1987, gave Chiranjeevi a super stardom. New style of dances were introduced. Chiranjeevi created waves with his steps which is known as “Break Dance”. In the same year he acted in SwayamKrushi in the direction of kalatapasvi K. Viswanath and won Nandi Award for his performance.

Chiranjeevi is a Saleable Product, Chiranjeevi is a Hot cake – is what both industry people and the spectators chant beyond any doubt. He gave super duper hits such as YamudikiMogudu, AthakiYamudu Ammayiki Mogudu.

Chiru became Supreme Hero with Yamudiki Mogudu. The title “Megastar” was used for the first time while publicizing K.S.Rama Rao’s movie Marana Mrudangam which released in August 1988. In the same year was released Rudraveena directed by K.Balachander, which bagged the “Nargis Dutt” award for Chiranjeevi in the national arena.

The first half of 90’s decade peaked Chiranjeevi’s career graph to soaring heights for every movie released rewrote the box-office history. Gang Leader, Rowdi Alludu, Jagadeka Veerudu-Athiloka Sundari, Gharana Mogudu are only a few to be cited.

Unfortunately, even the much bright star, Sun, encounters a phase of eclipse. And Chiranjeevi is no exception. Movies like Mechanic Alludu, SP Parasuram, Big Boss, Rickshavodu proved to be commercially disastrous. Mugguru Mongallu, Alluda Majaka did average at the box office. Big Boss and Rikshavodu were mere formula films. The controversy raked by Alluda Majaaka for some double-intender dialogues and few scenes affected Chiranjeevi’s image among his fans.

Chiranjeevi threw a self-declared ‘gap’ after Rickshavodu to have a self-scanning of his conscience and thus emerged out with much mature and versatile portrayal with the film Hitler followed by ‘Master’, ‘Baavagaaru Baagunnara’, ‘Choodaalani Vundi’, ”Sneham Kosam’, ‘Sneham Kosam’, ‘Iddaru Mithrulu’, ‘Annayya’, ‘Indra’, ‘Stalin’, ‘Shankar Dada MBBS’ and Chiranjeevi fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Shankar Dada Zindabad.

Chiranjeevi didn’t limit himself only to Telugu spectators. He is well acclaimed by Bollywood for his films ‘Prathibandh’, ‘Aaj ka Goondaraj’. The dubbed version of ‘Gang Leader’, The hunters of the Indian treasure, introduced Chiranjeevi to foreign spectators as well.

As the political atmosphere in Andhra Pradesh is hotting up ahead of assembly elections, one and a half year away, there is fresh speculation over Telugu matinee idol Chiranjeevi’s [Images] entry into politics.

While there was no word from the superstar, sources close to him say the exercise has begun to elicit views from people from various walks of life as a precursor to his foray into politics.

The actor is believed to have made up his mind to take the plunge and is likely annouce his decision after august 15(Independence day)
Chiru, as the actor is affectionately called by his fans and film industry, has been keeping the cards close to his chest about his political plans.

The leaders of powerful Kapu community, to which the star belongs, have been trying to persuade him to enter politics and end the domination of the two major castes — Kamma and Reddy — in the state.

However, Chiranjeevi who has a massive fan following across the communities, is said to be wary of being projected as a Kapu leader.

But he is expected to fill the leadership vaccum being felt among the numerically strong yet politically marginalised backward classes, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and minorities.

Of late, there have been efforts by Left parties to project Chiranjeevi, who has acted in 148 films, as a rallying point for weaker sections and leader of a possible Third Front as an alternative to the ruling Congress and main opposition Telugu Desam Party.

The Left parties, particularly the Communist Party of India, have been in the forefront of efforts to forge a Third Front by roping in Chiranjeevi.

Media reports also suggested that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party was keen on working with the actor.

Chirnajeevi’s fans have been rooting for his foray into politics and are confident that he can repeat the magic of the late N T Rama Rao who had stormed to power within nine months of floating the TDP and ended Congress monopoly in the state in 1983.

Though speculation about his entry into politics has been surfacing on and off for the last 15 years, the actor maintained a stoic silence.

However, in recent times he is said to be holding parleys with his aides and well-wishers in a bid to assess the political situation.

Chiranjeevi, a Padma Bhushan awardee, has been active in social work and philanthropic activity through the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank and Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust he floated couple of years ago.

The reports of his possible political plunge evoked enthusiastic response from his fans who organised rallies across the state and burst into celebrations in anticipation of their leader donning the political mantle.

The major political parties reacted guardedly to the fresh buzz about Chiranjeevi’s political entry.

While Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said he would welcome any one joining politics and “more so” Chiranjeevi, the TDP leaders said they would rather wait for the actor to announce his decision.

“In a democracy, anybody can join politics. Chiranjeevi is yet to announce his decision. Why should we comment before that?” senior TDP leader and former minister K Vidyadhara Rao said.

Echoing similar views, the state CPI secretary K Narayana said there was no clear-cut statement from the actor so far about his political plans.

CPI-M politburo member and state secretary B V Raghavulu said it was not the individual but the policies that matter.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi Member of Parliament K Vinod Kumar said the present political situation was completely different from the one that had prevailed when NTR launched a political party.

The 52-year-old actor was born in Mogalturu in West Godavari district and made his debut in 1977 with Mana Voori Pandavulu directed by noted Telugu director Bapu.
