Film star PavanKalyan married Renu Desai at a simple function at his residence here on Wednesday.
Only close family members, including his brothers — Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi and K. Nagababu — attended the wedding which was performed at 9.50 a.m. according to Arya Samaj traditions.
This is the second marriage for Mr. PavanKalyan who was involved in a stormy divorce case with his first wife Nandini in a court in Visakhapatnam recently.
The actor had paid a huge sum of money towards settlement of the marriage dispute a few months ago.
Mr. Kalyan and Ms. Renu have a five-year-year old son, Akira. Quite interestingly, the wedding card was sent to select invitees in their son’s name.
It said “Akira invites you to his parents’ wedding — Kalyan weds Renu — at our residence with the blessings of all the elders and the love of youngsters”.
Sources in Praja Rajyam said that though Mr. Kalyan and Ms. Renu had been living together for quite sometime, the wedding was aimed at stopping criticism by political rivals against this arrangement.
The actor has plunged into campaigning for the party ever since he became Yuva Rajyam president.

Even as Mahila Congress president Ganga Bhavani claimed credit for the secret marriage of Pavan Kalyan with Renu Desai, his brother Naga Babu made it clear that the marriage had no political connections.
“It is wrong to say that Pavan and Renu got married because of criticism from the Congress leaders. It is because they wanted to make their bond stronger and legal. That’s all,” Naga Babu told mediapersons.
For media persons, it was rather disappointing for not having covered Pavan Kalyan’s marriage in detail. All the channels sent their camera persons and correspondents to his residence early in the morning to give a live update of what was happening there; but they were kept at a kilometre distance. They had no clue as to what was happening inside his house, as there were not many guests to the wedding.
Finally, Pavan Kalyan and Renu came out of the gate to give poses for photographs, because that would fetch them some publicity!
Pawan Kalyan said that marriage should be performed between two hearts but not amidst crowds. He said this as an answer to a media person’s question. He married Renu Desai very secretly without giving any hype. Although the fans have tried to come to watch the marriage and to meet Pawan, they weren’t allowed inside. And there were no film celebrities around except Puri Jagannath and comedian and producer Ganesh. Even Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan haven’t shown themselves to media but met Pawan off the cameras. Allu Aravind and Co was also not seen by media cameras. The marriage was carried in very simple way in Arya Samaj style.
According to some unofficial source it is observed that Mr. Nani may leave PRP upon receiving showcase notice for his clash with Muttamshetti. These developments hurt Nani & his followers very much. Hence he is contemplating thoughts of leaving PRP. The Krishna Dist TDP leaders have contacted Nani to discus about his possibility of joining TDP.

At last, Kapus’s dominance prevailed in Vijaywada Praja Rajyam Party. Vijaywada’s urban committee convenor Kesineni Nani, who was served with showcause notice for assaulting Krishna district PRP convenor Vijaya Nirmala and picking up fight with Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, had to pay the penalty.
Nani has decided to quit the PRP, much before he is expelled from the party. And he gave enough hints that he would be shifting loyalties to the Telugu Desam party. He has no other choice, because TD is the only party where a Kamma leader can feel safe and secure.
Above all, Telugu Desam needs Nani’s clout and money in the elections. It is the only way to counter Kapu domination in the district. It remains to be seen whether the district Kammas would go in favour of Congress or get back to the TD.

The Praja Rajyam president, K. Chiranjeevi, on Tuesday joined the chorus of the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, by calling the Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu “All free Babu”.
The PRP president ridiculed the freebies announced by Mr Naidu during his election campaign and said they were not practical. He said even the combined Budget of India and the US would not be sufficient to implement all the promises made by Mr Naidu.
While addressing the party’s district committees convention at Ravi Narayana Reddy auditorium in Hyderabad, Mr Chiranjeevi passed critical remarks against the Telugu Desam chief.
“Unmindful of the amount of money needed to implement his promises, the TD chief is promising the moon to the common man only to grab power. Mr Naidu who threw the TD founder N.T. Rama Rao’s pro-poor policies to the wind during his nine-year rule as the Chief Minister is now again singing pro-poor tune in order to come back to power,” Chiranjeevi said.
The PR chief said that apart from the Chief Minister, Mr Naidu was also responsible for the present Satyam scandal as Mr Ramalinga Raju was a blue-eyed boy during the erstwhile TD regime.
Meanwhile, the PR leadership decided to take up a mass contact programme Gadapa Gadapaku Praja Rajyam (PR at every threshold) from Wednesday in every village across the state in order to prepare the cadre for the ensuing elections.
During this programme, which will will go on till the elections, the PR leaders and workers will visit every house and try to persuade people about the PR policies and Chiranjeevi’s slogan of “change”.
