Nagababu and Pawan Kalyan not to Contest Elections

Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi’s brother Nagababu made it clear that he along with his brother Pavan Kalyan would not contest the ensuing polls in the state.
He arrived here to take part in a party meeting on Saturday. Later, speaking to newsmen, he said that groupism in the party would no longer be tolerated and those who encourage it would be dealt with severely

Referring to the entry of leaders into Praja Rajyam from several other political parties, Mr Nagababu said that they were joining the party as they were interested in the party goals and objectives and added that in a democratic setup everyone has a right to join any party of his or her choice. However, he made it clear that only those who comply with the party norms would be given the responsibility and said that Chiranjeevi’s fans would also be given prominence. He expressed confident that the Praja Rajyam would win nearly 200 seats with 20,000 majority each in the ensuing polls for the Legislative Assembly.

Mr Nagababu said that all districts, including West Godavari, which is the home turf of Chiranjeevi, would be given equal prominence. With regard to party’s stand on Kolleru issue, he felt the need to conserve and protect the lake from environmental point of view. He said that the party high command would decide on possible alliances with other parties for the polls.

Actors to aid Congress plan

In order to counter the movie glamour in the Telugu Desam and the Praja Rajyam, the Congress has decided to take the help of movie stars owing allegiance to the party. Actors who joined the Congress have promised to spare at least three days in a month from now on to participate in pre-poll campaigns to counter the challenge posed by Chiranjeevi and the Nandamuri clan. The actors met at the Chief Minister’s camp office on Sunday evening and took this decision.

The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, sought their help to undertake a vigorous campaign for the party for at least one day in a week. and asked them to spare more time from December to take up road shows in all districts. Dr Reddy sought their help to publicise the various development and welfare activities taken up by the state government during the party’s four-and-a-half year rule.

The Chief Minister said that a campaign by actors would be more effective and they should formulate their party activity in such a way as to attract the people towards the Congress. “You need not criticise party leaders or actors campaigning for other parties. If you can effectively explain to the people what this government is doing in a positive way with facts and figures that is more than enough,” Dr Reddy told them.

Actor Jayasudha who joined the party recently said that she was going to campaign from Prakasam district to bring youth into the party fold. The actor couple Rajasekhar and Jeevitha assured the Chief Minister that they will undertake a vigorous campaign in Godavari districts to counter the impact of Chiranjeevi. The PCC president, Mr D. Srinivas, who was present at the meeting came forward to appoint co-ordinators from the party to formulate the actors’ campaign programmes and provide support.

Devender Goud Has No Other Way

He was known as the most trusted lieutenant for the strategic Chandrababu Naidu and much to everyone’s shock he parted ways with him at the right time quoting the Telangana sentiment.

Now, a founder of Nava Telangana Praja Party (NTPP), he is currently jammed from all sides.

We are talking about the once highly respected Devender Goud who has now become a mute spectator to the Tsunami of Chiranjeevi, the winning moves of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and the hard work of Chandrababu Naidu since he has nowhere to go.

It is now being said that Goud will most likely associate with Chiru since KCR of the TRS has come forward to join hands with Naidu and this means that the only way of surviving in this game is to associate with the big fish. However, it remains to be seen if Chiru is having any such thoughts since there is no indication from him about Telangana.
