The Praja Rajyam Party chief, Megastar Chiranjeevi, said that his party’s first list of candidates for the Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies would positively ready by March 22.
Addressing a news conference at Billapadu village near Gudivada on Thursday, Chiranjeevi said he had to cut short his Krishna district tour only to be present for the party’s meeting in Hyderabad on March 21 and the need to release the candidate’s list by March 22.
He said the preliminary work of selection of candidates was completed and the party leadership would clear the names after final scrutiny. He asserted that the party had selected candidates that would be accepted and approved by people too. “We have taken several aspects into consideration such as social background, character, winning capacity and moral values. This is for this reason we were delayed in releasing our list of candidates,” Chiranjeevi said.
In reply to a question on MRPS chief, Manda Krishna’s fresh threat to the Maha Kutami, Chiranjeevi smiled and said that he had already given a new name to it as Keelu Gurram (Wooden Horse) that can not move or perform any work. He said the Maha Kutami would be reduced to insignificant position after the elections.
Chiranjeevi paid rich tributes to late NTR and said he was happy to meet the people here. “I feel proud to be here, the birth place of late NTR. The late leader had always strived to help people and it is coincident that I too have similar commitment towards people,” Chiranjeevi said.
The Megastar started his third day road show in Krishna district from Billapadu village on Gudivada-Pamarru road. He would be withdrawing from the tour by this evening without visiting Vijayawada.
