Magadheera Releasing With Rs 5 Cr Deficit

Posted by chiru On July - 3 - 2009

The most talked about movie ‘Magadheera’ might be a promising entertainer but then it seems to have its own hiccups prior to the release. While the audio album reports have not been that encouraging here is something that might keep the makers thinking.

It is heard that the film is actually releasing with a Rs 5 crore deficit and given the budget involved, some say this was expected. However, producer Allu Aravind seems to be unfazed by this as sources say that this is the money that was procured by the PRP ticket sales during the election time.

Unlike the statements given that the investment was from the returns of ‘Ghajini’, the inside sources say that this was the PRP fund and that’s why Allu seems to be in a rather cool mode. Many say that Allu Aravind never tends to send big money this way, but since it’s the easy money earned through ticket-sales he is not bothered, says grapevine.

Pawan Kalyan is one most disappointed PRP workers with the performance of PRP in the last election. The disappointed Pawan left to Pune to take rest immediately after the elections results were out.

After coming from Pune, he is busy with film Komaram Pili shooting schedules.

And there are rumors in the industry that Pawan is keeping himself away from PRP after the poor performance and there was also talk that Pwan may resign for PRP Yuvarajyam chief.

But putting an end to all these rumors, Megastar makes a statement regarding Pawan. Megastar says ‘ Pawan is very much PRP Yuvarajyam Chief and he would campaign for PRP in the coming GHMC Elections’

‘Magadheera’ Story Leaked On Internet

It is known news that the film ‘Magadheera’ has been causing quite a lot of enthusiasm amongst many. The audio release event was equally grand and many did their bit to get a hand on a scene or two before the movie got released. Now, here is interesting information for you.

During the audio release function, a group of members apparently discussed the story of ‘Magadheera’ at Shilpa Kalavedika last evening which happens to be a mixture of Veta and Yama Donga. The film revolves around the concept of monarchial politics, power game of step brother, conspiracy to weaken and kill King Kala Bhairava (Charan), Kala Bhairava’s romance with queen who takes rebirth as an engineer, revenge on the antagonists of past birth those carry forward in subsequent birth etc. Charan’s name is Kala Bhairava in the film and he will take birth again to win the love of his queen again that was not fully experienced in his king life.

While the flavor looks a bit familiar, it now remains to be seen how director S S Rajamouli has shaped up the film and how the cast and crew did their bit. Charan is said to be doing the role of a warrior king and Kajal plays his leading lady. This should be interesting.

We have seen Karan Arjun, Om Shanthi Om, Janaki Ramudu, Mooga Manasulu, Karz and many becoming hits with reincarnation stuff. Let us see if Magadheera also falls in that line.

Charan &Kajal-excellent chemistry on screen.

S S Rajamouli is all set to release his recent movie ‘Magadheera’, many think as to why he selected mega power star Ramcharan Teja as the hero and Kajal Agarwal as the heroine. S S Rajamouli stated that both of them share an excellent chemistry on screen.

Behind The Scene Lagadapati Over-Action

Posted by chiru On April - 29 - 2009

Industrialist and Congress candidate for Vijayawada MP seat, Lagadapati Rajagopal, seems to be in a lot of frustration, following the talk that he is losing the elections.

He is now giving vent to his frustration on his bete noire Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao. Otherwise, there was no reason why he had to convene a press conference at Hyderabad and criticise the TRS.

Lagadapati says the TDP would have got at least a couple of MP seats and more number of MLA seats in Telangana, had it not entered into alliance with the TRS. “By allowing TRS into the Mahakootami, the TDP lost heavily. It is not going to get even a single MP seat in the entire state and it has lost the opportunity of getting more MLA seats,” he said.

He also expressed sympathy for Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi. “He has made several strategic mistakes and failed to build up the organisation. Otherwise, he would have become at least the Leader of Opposition this time and the Chief Minister in 2004,” Lagadapati said.

Who has asked him to make all these silly comments? It is better he focuses on Vijayawada.

Finally, he obliged the demand of the people of Telangana region and declared his party policy on the contentious statehood issue. Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi said that if the Central Government proposes separate Telangana, his party would not come in the way and also said that there was a need for every one to bring pressure on the Centre to adopt a resolution in favor of Telangana.

The actors announcement was greeted with loud applause from a massive gathering.

The crowd burst crackers and danced with joy.

Chiranjeevi started his second day of the Praja Ankita Yatra in Telangana region from Metpally this morning.

He travelled through Korutla and reached Jagityal town around 2 pm and at the bus stand circle he unveiled the policy on Telangana. Since morning the media was expecting the PRP president to announce the policy which he finally made at Jagityal.

Before announcing the policy Chiranjeevi lashed out at leaders who spoke on the need for separate State. He said that instead of taking the region on the road to development, politicians were trying to rouse passions with an intent to reap political gain.

He ridiculed the Congress for saying that the party would take a decision at an appropriate time. ‘‘When would that appropriate time come,’’ he questioned.

His party would bring pressure on the Centre to expedite the process, the PRP supremo stated. He criticised the leaders for not revealing the fact that Centre has the authority to create a separate State.

However, some local people said that Chiranjeevi has to be more clear on the Telangana issue.

Earlier in the day, Chiranjeevi addressed the agitating teachers at Metpally Tahsildar office. He said that if the students have to get good education teachers must be offered good facilities. Narrating the woes of teachers Chiranjeevi said that a teacher told him that because transfers had been put on hold, he and his wife were living in different areas.

Chiranjeevi described the demands of the teachers as genuine and need to be solved immediately.

Speaking at Korutla, he said that unless the weaker sections were represented in big number in the Assembly, their problems would not be solved. He said that the party has announced the first ticket to a tribal woman Muniamma who is working for the welfare of her community.

He urged the people to elect majority community people and his party was ready to send such leaders to the Assembly.

Addressing the problems of the minorities and beedi workers of the Korutla area, the PRP founder felt sorry that these sections were not getting justice and the minorities were being harassed.

Chiranjeevi Says Telangana Dreems and Issues

Posted by chiru On October - 31 - 2008

Chiranjeevi on Thursday hinted that his Praja Rajyam party would support the demand for separate statehood to the Telangana region.

Launching his ‘yatra’ in Telangana, Chiranjeevi said he would make an announcement on the issue before he winds up his visit to the region.

The actor launched the second phase of his state-wide ‘yatra’ from Sricilla town in Karimnagar district. Addressing a series of roadside meetings in the district, he hinted that he would back the demand for separate Telangana state.

‘The people of Nizam region (Telangana) love me so much. My films were all hit in this region and the people in the industry called me Nizam hero. After getting so much love and affection from you, I will not cheat you,’ he said.

Chiranjeevi said he knew the aspirations and feelings of the people.

‘I will honour your sentiments and self-respect on this issue.’

His assurance came at a time when almost all parties are supporting the demand for separate Telangana in view of the ensuing elections.

The main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) recently supported the five decades old demand while the ruling Congress party is likely to soon make an announcement in favour of separate Telangana.

Chiranjeevi’s meetings evoked massive public response like his meetings in north Telangana Andhra, which he covered under the first phase of the ‘yatra’ earlier this month.

In Sircilla town, the actor promised to help the weavers, who are facing a serious crisis. This was his second visit to the handloom town.

He promised seven hours free electricity to the powerlooms and said the would be brought under the cover of a free health insurance scheme.

Voicing concern over continuing suicides by the distressed weavers, Chiranjeevi said if his party took power, it would pay a compensation of Rs.500,000 to the family of any weaver who commits suicide.

No Opposition for Praja Rajyam Party in Coastal Andhra

Posted by chiru On October - 31 - 2008

The Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) is hopeful of making a clean sweep of all Assembly constituencies in coastal Andhra Pradesh and it does not anticipate even a semblance of a fight from the ruling party, not to mention the seemingly unending woes of the TDP.

The PRP would make its mark in Telangana and Rayalaseema regions as well with social justice as the main election plank, said its leader K.S.R. Murthy.

Sensitive issue

Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday, Mr. Murthy said the Congress lost credibility and the TDP was not in a position to emerge unscathed from its problems. The PRP, he said, was trying to drive home the message that it was prepared to do its best for people’s welfare with service as the sole motto.

The PRP was planning ways to put an end to hardships of SCs, STs and Backward Classes, which were deprived of their rights for a long time.

Asked whether the PRP would prefer creation of separate Telangana, Mr. Murthy said party president Chiranjeevi would make a statement as it was a sensitive issue on which the party could not afford to take a hasty decision. The PRP was getting a good response in this region also contrary to perception that film stars would not be able to sway the electorate here, he asserted.

Dharna plan

Mr. Murthy said the PRP would picket East Godavari district Collector’s Office in a week if the government did not institute an inquiry into the corruption charges levelled by Small Scale Industries Minister Gollapalli Surya Rao against his cabinet colleague J.C. Diwakar Reddy, by the Lok Ayukta or a retired judge of the Supreme Court or Andhra Pradesh High Court. He said it was not a private matter to be deliberated in party forums as the Minister was accused of being involved in swindling of public money.

Many MLAs favoured an inquiry by a sitting judge knowing fully well that it was the least possible thing the government could do to ferret out such stark facts.

There were few instances when an inquiry was done by a sitting judge in India except the ones like Srikrishna Commission, which probed the Mumbai riots.

“It is unfortunate that similar charges traded by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu in the Assembly were never inquired into at the highest level,” Mr. Murthy added.

Chiranjeevi Promises to Make Telangana Stand Clear Soon

Posted by chiru On October - 31 - 2008

The second leg of  Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi’s Praja Ankita Yatra started on Thursday, pulling massive crowds in Telangana district of Karimnagar though the mega star continued to remain as evasive as ever on the contentious Telangana issue.

The only promise the film actor made was that before he concluded his yatra in Telangana districts which will continue till November 7, he would make a categorical promise on the issue. He, however, said he honoured the sentiments of the people for separate Statehood.

The roadshows in all villages in Karimnagar district were well attended, which came as a relief to the managers of the actor who feared the turnout might not be all that impressive.

People in large numbers turned at his roadshows and listened to him attentively. They cheered him lustily whenever he spoke of the valour of Telangana people.

The film actor kick-started his yatra in the weavers’ town of Sircilla where he declared waiving of all loans availed by the weavers and clearing all piled up stock by paying Re 1 more per metre of cloth.

He also promised benefits like health and life insurance to weavers, appointment of a special officer, a training center to upgrade the skills of weavers, payment of Rs 2,500 as pension to the surviving family members of the weavers who committed suicides, education in the residential schools for the children, providing meal twice a day to the aged.

After reaching Vemulavada, he offered prayers to Lord Siva at Rajarajeswari temple and speaking at a whistlestop meeting, he promised steps to stop migrations of workers to other countries and announced that a special cell would be created for those who are working in the Gulf countries.

However his tour was marred by slogan-shouting by the cadres of Telangana Rashtra Samiti. At Sircilla, Vemulavada and Chandurti the TRS activists tried to corner him demanding a clear statement on Telangana. Chiranjeevi assured them that he knew the heart of the Telangana people and would do what they want.

While passing through Sircilla a hoarding set up by local leaders in which a child was requesting Chiranjeevi to provide free education to the children attracted the actor’s attention who later said he would definitely fulfil her wish. In another incident he called on a hundred-year-old woman to his vehicle and made her speak.
