Congress rousing passions: NTR Jr.

HYDERABAD: Actor NTR Jr. on Monday accused the Congress of trying to rouse people’s passions on knowing that it had fared badly in the first phase of polling. He urged people to ponder over the consequences if leaders, who create rift among people, were elected.

In a televised address to people, who vote in the second and final phase on April 23, he asked them to take note of those who were promising social change on one hand and “selling election tickets” on the other.
Plea to voters

He appealed to them think carefully as their votes would decide the future.

Making an impassioned plea to bring the Grand Alliance to power for a “golden future”, he said the cash transfer scheme would usher in lot of changes in their lives.
Criticises YSR

Referring to Chief Minister Y.S .Rajasekhara Reddy’s controversial remarks that people from other regions would have to live as aliens in Telangana, he wondered why the Congress had tied up with the TRS in the last election. He said the State’s future would be in jeopardy if the Congress was not “buried”.

He accused Congressmen of treating people as mere vote banks and alleged that they would stoop to any level to garner votes.

Jr.NTR who mastered the art of fiery speeches like his grand dad Sr.NTR,is now in a spot of bother.Yesterday his speech was shown live by all the news channels.

He started criticizing the Congress first and then later on moved to Prajarajyam party.After that he started talking about Telugu Desam party’s cash transfer and colour tv’s.while talking about colour tv’s he said,there are many uses of having colour TV in our homes, like gaining knowledge about the world,Entertainment,Sports etc.In this flow, he said that people can know about the bad government, it’s bad governance, it’s bad Ministers and leaders through the colour TVs offered by TDP.

If at all TDP forms the Government and supply Colour TVs to people, then his idea about watching the bad Government and it’s bad leaders certainly created an adverse effect about TDP, by mistake.Most of them who saw his speech were quick enough to notice this flaw.This has put the TDP in a spot of bother.

Jr. NTR blows a flawed trumpet

In its ultimate bid to woo the voters, T.D.P played one of its most awaited player. The voter appeal speech of Jr. N.T.R telecast across various news channels was filled with criticism against the arch rivals of T.D.P in this state election.

Jr. N.T.R who has mastered the style of the late N.T.R is sadly no match to his wits. His speech was laden with punchlines but was predictable. Jr. N.T.R in his speech criticized a rival party which is offering essential groceries every month for rupees hundred by questioning them if it was a house game that people are playing! He went to list the merits of the cash transfer scheme proposed by Telugu Desam Party by quoting that this is progress resting people.

He went on to add that the color T.V scheme isn’t a lure but is a tool of communication being given to the people. He lashed out at Congress saying that the party deserted other parties like TRS which were the palanquin bearers to the party.

His speech however was seen as a sympathy bid, with him resting on a hospital bed while he delivered it. Let’s hope that the ultimate bid of T.D.P pays off.

Jr NTR makes changes in script

Telugu Desam party’s star attraction Jr NTR has made certain changes in his script while addressing the people through television channels live on Monday.

In his latest speech, Jr NTR added the masala on Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s recent comments describing the settlers of Telangana as foreigners. He wondered whether YSR had not thought about this issue while forging alliance with the TRS before 2004 elections and including the separate Telangana issue in the Congress manifesto.

“He is trying to provoke regional feelings among the people by makingsuch statements,” Jr NTR alleged. He also ridiculed Chiranjeevi’s promise of providing all essential commodities at Rs 100 a packet. “He does not know how much quantity of provisions each family requires. Such a person is making ridiculous promises,” Jr NTR said.

Jr. NTR to appear again on TV

Jr. NTR appeared on television just two days before the voting for the first phase of polling and urged the people to vote for the TDP. NTR is now taking rest as advised by the doctors after his accident. Jr. NTR’s speech was found to be much too dramatic by the people. Many felt that he overdid the act by wearing khakhi clothes, a yellow TDP scarf around his neck and his theatrics.

JR. NTR is now set to come up with yet another appeal to the voters in a live broadcast on TV. It remains to be seen if he will resort the same theatrics as he did the first time or will he come up with a simple yet heartfelt appeal for votes.

Kshudra Pooja against Jr NTR?

It’s election time and there is a lot of scope for the media to cook up wonderful scoops.

Just as Sakshi brought out Naidu tapes scandal, another Telugu daily Surya has come out with a highly imaginative “scoop” to entertain the readers. According to this exclusive story, Telugu Desam star campaigner Jr NTR was injured on the day of Ugadi not because of accident, but because of a “Kshudra Pooja” performed by the Congress leaders. And this was found out by some priests who closely studied his horoscope after the accident.

The report says the detractors of Jr NTR performed Kala Bhairava Aghora poojas for 10 days at Trisur in Kerala prior to the incident. As many as eight sorcerers participated in this pooja, which was supervised by an IAS officer, who earlier worked in Kerala as Collector and is now in Hyderabad. It was because of this Kala Bhairava pooja that Jr NTR had to apply sudden brakes on seeing a dog on the road, which led to the accident.

And the story suggests a remedy too. Jr NTR has to perform Rudra Pooja as per Rudra Mayalaya Tantram. And he will be back to business in 10-15 days!

Junior NTR is coming up again Public Meeting Show

Junior NTR who mesmerized the public through his extraordinary speeches is getting ready to campaign for TDP on 20th April through electronic media.

On 13th of this month, he addressed the people through electronic media as the first phase of polling is on 16th April.

He is going to repeat the same before second phase of polls-that is on 20th April. The second phase will go for poll on 23rd of April.

TDP is reliably depending on NTR junior and making arrangements towards that.

Jr NTR’s message is being spread in CDs

It is the known fact that NTR.Jr who is the main campaigner of TDP in these elections is out of the way after the accident.

Still TDP is depending up on the charisma of NTR.Jr. Junior who is excellent speaker addressed the public with the help of electronic media on 13th April. Now the party is making the CDs of NTR speeches and selling them through out the state. The party is getting some fund and at the same time it is getting good publicity.

The CDs are distributed to the cadre of TDP at nominal cost and asked them to spread the message of NTR in to the people.

Is election campaigning a bad omen to film stars?

Remember Soundarya who was burnt to ashes in a helicopter accident during the 2004 elections. Now in this 2009 election campaign, it is turn of the Jr.NTR to meet with a road accident but fortunately he came out with minor bruises and now recuperating after his discharge from the hospital.

Why political parties use/misuse/overuse the film stars? Who are to be blamed for this culture? Can these screen idols really get votes for the political leaders?

In the seventies MGR skillfully used his screen image to defeat Karunanidhi led DMK with a huge margin through his own outfit AIADMK. This has bolstered the image of the film stars across India and has the politicians believe that the matinee idols do have ability to garner votes. Today political parties are engaging even small time artists also to canvass for their party.

Showing the bogey of some immunity/protection from income tax officials, ruling parties at the centre used to ask the film stars to canvass in their favor. However, the latest trend is film stars themselves are demanding money or parliament/assembly berths or nominated posts if the party they are canvassing is voted into power. Once the agreement is reached it will be hectic life as the cadre and candidates demand the party high command to send stars to their constituencies.

Even the political parties also know that cine glamour is no more in a position in getting votes but they can draw public to election meetings, thereby boosting the morale of the cadre and improving the winning chances.

The general talk is political entry is hara-kiri for the filmy people as their glamour dilutes and their screen image takes a beating. To compensate for that the stars drive for hard barging with political parties and in some cases political parties loose or vice versa. Recently the Congress showered a lot of bonanza on Krishna and Nagarjuna but now they are not coming out to canvass for the party. Jr.NTR and Soundarya appear to be the losers.

The Telugu Desam Party is not leaving any chance to grab victory in the elections and in the process, make some quick money. The party leadership has sent CDs containing speeches of TD’s star campaigner Jr NTR to all parts of the state, so that the local level leaders would either telecast or screen them in public display to attract voters. Since Jr NTR is not a position to campaign in the elections, the CDs containing his speeches made during the road shows before accident would attract voters to the TD, the leadership felt.

However, the local level party leaders are making a quick money by selling the CDs to party workers, rather than telecasting or broadcasting them. The workers are preserving them as if they are some film CDs!
