State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET) : At present the Director of Technical Education is the Ex-Officio Chairman and the Joint Director of Technical Education acts as the Secretary. The Board has come into existence from 1st June 1984.Subsequently some more members were added and some were changed. The Government emphasized the need of technical manpower to handle these organisations and directed the states to develop the Technical education on a fast track mode. The Government of India directed each state government to form a technical Board with the name as “Board of Technical education and Training.

The Directorate of Technical Education was under the control of the Department of Public Instruction till 1959. Because of increase in number of technical institutions particularly in the later half of the fifties, it was felt necessary to form an independent Department of Technical Education with the objective of bringing about the perfect coordination of technical education institution under one governing and monitoring body. The Department of Technical Education in Karnataka, is functioning under the Ministry of Higher Education. The Department is looking after the monitoring, planning and development of all the Degree level and Technician level Institutions in the state.

Directorate of Technical Education, Karnataka ( DTE Karnataka ) will declare its Diploma May 2010 Results 2010 on 17th July 2010. The results can be checked below.
