Prajarajyam party president on Sunday tried to win back fans who deserted him during the recent polls by promising them tickets in the elections to the municipal and local bodies.
Several senior fans of Chiranjeevi had deserted him after being denied tickets in the recent general elections. Some of them had even quit the PRP accusing the party leadership of not recognising 20 years of their service to Chiranjeevi.
Interacting with office-bearers of various Chiranjeevi fans associations in Hyderabad, the PRP chief shared his views on a variety of subjects and said he was feeling let down after some of his most trusted fans for over two decades left him for `trivial reasons’.
“I welcome back all my fans who have stayed away from me for different reasons. Your continued association with me gives me strength to achieve many more things. You have been my strength for over three decades and I would not like to distance myself from you,” he said.
Urging the fans to continue to extend their unstinted support, Chiranjeevi showered praises on them for trying their best to support his cause of social justice. “Your service in the recent elections has been exemplary. All sincere fans will get an opportunity to represent the party in the elections to municipal and local bodies. Due recognition will be given to all those who have stood by me,” he said.
Chiranjeevi also extended an olive branch to fans who turned their back on him saying, “I have nothing against you. You were influenced by some selfish people from other political parties. I welcome all of you back into the party fold.” The two-hour meeting also discussed at length the strength and weakness of the party from the fans’ point of view and the remedial measures needed to strengthen the party.
