Chiru tries to win back fans

chiranjeevipr1

Prajarajyam party president on Sunday tried to win back fans who deserted him during the recent polls by promising them tickets in the elections to the municipal and local bodies.

Several senior fans of Chiranjeevi had deserted him after being denied tickets in the recent general elections. Some of them had even quit the PRP accusing the party leadership of not recognising 20 years of their service to Chiranjeevi.

Interacting with office-bearers of various Chiranjeevi fans associations in Hyderabad, the PRP chief shared his views on a variety of subjects and said he was feeling let down after some of his most trusted fans for over two decades left him for `trivial reasons’.

“I welcome back all my fans who have stayed away from me for different reasons. Your continued association with me gives me strength to achieve many more things. You have been my strength for over three decades and I would not like to distance myself from you,” he said.

Urging the fans to continue to extend their unstinted support, Chiranjeevi showered praises on them for trying their best to support his cause of social justice. “Your service in the recent elections has been exemplary. All sincere fans will get an opportunity to represent the party in the elections to municipal and local bodies. Due recognition will be given to all those who have stood by me,” he said.

Chiranjeevi also extended an olive branch to fans who turned their back on him saying, “I have nothing against you. You were influenced by some selfish people from other political parties. I welcome all of you back into the party fold.” The two-hour meeting also discussed at length the strength and weakness of the party from the fans’ point of view and the remedial measures needed to strengthen the party.

No horse trading, please: PRP

goud2

With barely a week left for the counting of votes, Praja Rajyam Party is taking all precautions to see that its elected members do not fall prey to horse trading by its rival political parties.

The political affairs committee of the PRP which met here on Saturday, decided that all the elected members of the party are called to Hyderabad by May 16 evening to attend the PRP Legislature Party meeting. From there, they all would be shifted to a camp till the formation of next government.

“We have made arrangements to see that all the elected members reach Hyderabad by May 16 evening. We are taking all precautions in this regard,” political affairs committee member T Devender Goud said. Goud feels that the party might get a few seats lesser than expected, but exuded confidence that it would form the government.

KCR to join NDA

kcr-img12377846001

It is now more or less official. Telangana Rashtra Samithi will join the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance after the declaration of results.

TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao on Saturday accepted an invitation from Punjab Chief Minister and Akali Dal president Prakash Singh Badal to attend the rally of NDA to be held at Ludhiana on Sunday. KCR and his colleagues will participate in the rally, thereby ending the speculations about the TRS stand in the post-poll scenario.

KCR met senior BJP leader L K Advani on Friday and discussed the post-poll situation. Advani also asked him to join the NDA rally. TRS leaders have already declared that the party was free to choose its option of joining any coalition, including the NDA, which would grant separate statehood to Telangana region. With the TRS deciding to join the NDA, its links with Mahakutami would be once and for all severed.

Ramulamma differs with KCR

kcrvijaya1238472168

While Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrasekhara Rao is inclining towards the Bharatiya Janata Party, his deputy and party secretary general Vijayashanti feels that Mahakootami is the best choice for the party.

She said the TRS would continue its alliance with Mahakutami even after the polls. “It is certain that the grand alliance will come to power this time and the TRS will be part of it. There is no question of having a tie-up with the Congress,” she said.

Vijayashanti, however, did not comment openly against TRS-NDA tie-up, but party sources say she expressed her reservations with KCR in this regard. She is also unhappy with the way KCR had ignored her, while going on Delhi trip. “As the party’s secretary general, he should have involved me in the policy decisions,” she is learnt to have commented at her associates.

Praja Rajyam Party latest figure: 100 Assembly seats

chiru-prp8

As the day of counting is fast approaching, the confidence levels of the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) are growing and its president Chiranjeevi is putting up a more confident posture.

Going by the reports reaching the PRP office from various sources, Chiranjeevi has come to the conclusion that the party would get not less than 100 assembly seats. And that is giving him a lot of confidence on how to deal with the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party.

He is now of the view that both the parties would come to him with a proposal to make him the Chief Minister. Whoever comes out with a more attractive proposal will get the priority. “There is no compromise on making Chiranjeevi as the CM. If that does not happen, we will sit in the Opposition and that will lead to a constitutional crisis,” PRP sources said.

If the PRP leads the coalition and Chiranjeevi becomes the Chief Minister, it would immensely help the party as it would be in a position to call the shots in governance. And if a mid-term election happens, it would only help the PRP as it would be the ruling party then.

Where Are Pawan Kalyan And Nagababu

prajarajyam03

It looks like though the political parties have been coming up with tall claims of getting single majorities and forming governments, there are a few who realize the truth and have decided to keep low. And one among them seem to be the megabrothers – Nagababu and Pawan Kalyan.

It is being said that both of them are not to be seen in any press meet after elections. It is also heard that Pawan is not even in shooting and same is the case with Nagababu. Many say that post election they have shied their faces away and even the PRP party office folks say that they are not coming there like before.

However, sources close to both say that since their assignment at PRP is over, both Nagababu and Pawan are easing it out and are not too worried about the result. How much of this is true, we would know in just few days time but till such time both their absence will be causing some buzz.
