Chandra Babu Naidu continues to spit venom on PRP

3

Looks like Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has not lost his grudge against Praja Rajyam Party led by Chiranjeevi, for causing the defeat of the TDP in the recent elections.

Addressing a large number of PRP students who joined the TDP, Naidu did not hide his anger against the PRP. “Just before the elections, a new party entered the state politics, without any aim or objective. It has completely spoiled the good work done by the TDP in creating an anti-establishment feeling among the people. Rather than coming to power, this new party completely played a spoilsport with the TDP chances, by causing a split in the anti-establishment votes. As a result, the Congress could come back to power again,” he said.

The TDP president called upon the students to launch an agitation against the corrupt practices of the Congress government. “It is time all the students take up cudgels against corruption and irregularities in the administration,” he said.

prajarajyam Party change the Raising Sun Symbol Permanent

‘Chiru unavailable’

VIJAYAWADA: Observers sent by the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) leadership to take stock of the affairs in Krishna district in the aftermath of elections faced severe criticism from the cadres at the review meeting on Wednesday.

The leaders faced the ire of some party workers, who did not get a chance to speak. “We gave slips first to express our feelings. But, you allowed others to speak. This kind of attitude has led the party to debacle,” they shouted.

The cadres held the leadership responsible for the drubbing the party received in the general elections, and suggested that it should change its “mindset and style of functioning” for a better future.

Visibly livid party activists raised a wide range of issues, including selection of candidates, election symbol, electoral alliances and failure to cash in on the people’s problems like spiralling prices.

“The opposition parties, including ours, ignored the issues that directly concerned the public, and it helped the Congress to retain power. The party should rebuild organisationally, and prepare for the local body elections,” the activists said.

‘Chiru unavailable’

They said most of them were diehard fans of party president Chiranjeevi, and they did not aspire for a post or profit. All they wanted was a “photograph with Chiranjeevi and an opportunity to shake hands with him.” But, he was hardly available for the visitors, they said.

“The party would have pocketed 30 more seats and become a king-maker had it entered into an electoral alliance with the Lok Satta Party. Our party could have won at least 30 segments more, but for the presence of the Lok Satta Party,” said Y. Ramakrishna, an activist.

Suresh, another activist, was furious against the selection of “wrong candidates.” “In the name of social justice, you (leadership) have backed the wrong horses,” he said.

Former Ministers Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao and Metla Satyanarayana Rao, who were sent as observers by the party leadership, and local leaders suggested to the cadres not to excessively worry about the past and, instead, work for the future. The party should be strengthened from the grassroots level to see to it that Mr. Chiranjeevi became the Chief Minister at least next time. The PRP was the only alternative to the Congress, and it would come to power in 2014, they asserted

Symbol change

All the speakers said there was an imminent need to change the party symbol. The Congress fielded dummy candidates whose names were closer to the names of PRP candidates, and these dummy candidates contested on road roller symbol and confused the voters, the speakers said.

PRP MLAs Vellampalli Srinivas (Vijayawada West), Yalamanchili Ravi (Vijayawada East), former MLAs Vangaveeti Radhakrishna and Buragadda Vedavyas, former MP K. P. Reddaiah and others were present.

Megastar Chiranjeevi has been one man who has not done anything without his fans’ wish, or so he claims. His decision to get into politics was also due to the urge from his fans as per sources close to him. However, right now, Chiru is said to be worried for his fans.

The cause for his worry is not because he lost the elections miserably or not because he has left the film industry for good and got into politics. Chiru was heard saying that the reason he is concerned about his fans was their pride has been struck badly.

The past two decades, Chiru fans were able to put their collar up and walk around but today all their pride has been lost with Chiru’s bumpy ride. So, megastar is said to be worried since he has not been able to keep up the fans pride.

Can any one imagine PRP without Chiru?

Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi, at times, turns philosophical, while putting up a brave front on the party’s survival in some other times.

Reacting to the resignation of Dr P Mitra from the party, Chiranjeevi said there was no loss to the party, even if Mitra resigned. “He has done it for his personal reasons. It does not affect the party. Tomorrow, I may not be there in the party, but it will continue to exist,” he said.

It is not known whether he really wants to step out of the party or said it in a casual manner, but it shows the sorry state of affairs in the PRP. What will be the morale of the party leaders, if the president himself speaks so philosophically?

Praja Rajyam flay govt move to weed out bogus ration cards

Chiranjeevi(2)

The government’s move to weed out bogus ration cards has come in for sharp criticism from the BJP and the PRP.

At separate press conferences on Monday, the parties questioned the rationale behind the exercise soon after the elections and asked the government to explain the reasons behind the hastiness to weed out 35 lakh `bogus ration cards’ in the state.

They expressed doubts over the sincerity of officials in completing the process without bias and said officials at the ground level could connive with local political leaders and deprive deserving people of the benefits if they were supporters of non-Congress parties.

State BJP president Bandaru Dattatreya lashed out at the Congress government for ignoring the bogus ration cards issue before the elections. He said, “weren’t there bogus ration cards before the elections? Today, all of a sudden, the CM realises that there are lakhs of bogus ration cards. How can we trust a person whose stance on such an important subject changes within days of coming to power?” he asked.

Dattatreya demanded a detailed enquiry into the issue and wanted the matter to be referred to the food advisory committee before the exercise was started.

“The chief minister’s claim that the exercise was being taken up with an ultimate aim of ensuring that eligible people did not lose out on welfare benefits does not hold water. How can the verification process be completed in three months?,” he asked.

The PRP, meanwhile, demanded scrutiny of the exercise by an all-party committee. PRP legislator Kannababu said cancellation of social security schemes like ration cards, pensions and Indiramma housing scheme should be done in a professional and unbiased manner.

Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi will meet the party candidates who lost in the Assembly elections in the next two weeks. The meetings will commence on June 15 here and will continue up to 26.
In a press release, the party leaders said on June 15 Chiranjeevi would meet candidates of Adilabad, Anantapur and Srikakulam districts and on 16, those from Nizamabad, Kurnool and Vizianagaram districts. He would meet the candidates of Karimnagar, Kadapa and Visakhapatnam districts on 20, those from Khammam, Chittoor and East Godavari districts on 22 and the candidates from Mahaboobnagar, Nellore and West Godavari districts on 23. On June 24, Chiranjeevi would meet candidates of Nalgonda, Prakasam and Krishna districts.
On 25 and 26 he would interact with the nominees of Medak, Guntur and Warangal districts and Rangareddy and Hyderabad respectively. The PRP president would discuss the issues related to the party organisation and on the preparations for the local body elections.

PRP wants sub quota
Meanwhile, the PRP has decided to demand sub quota for BCs, SCs and STs in the women’s reservation bill to be tabled in Parliament soon. The party discussed the issue at a meeting presided over by Chiranjeevi and felt that unless BCs, SCs and STs were given sub quota in the reservation for women, the objective of the bill would not be achieved.
It appears that the party had decided to follow the line taken by the Samajwadi
Party with which it wanted to form a fourth front at the Centre.

Praja Rajyam Praty and TDP Grand Aliance In Assembly Sabha

chiru_chendra11244787575

The Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi is clueless as to how to go about in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections to be held immediately and the local body elections in the next few months.

The party does not have any organisational structure even now and it is difficult to build one in a very short time. So, some leaders like Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao and Tammineni Sitaram have suggested to Chiranjeevi to have an understanding with the Telugu Desam and the Communists in the coming days, so that a stronger opposition can put up a strong fight against the Congress. “Barring TRS, we are prepared to have alliance with all the three partners of the Mahakootami, including the TDP,” Kotagiri told media persons on Friday.

In fact, the idea has come from the TDP itself. Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, who tried to lure all his erstwhile party friends who joined the PRP back into the TDP, suggested that it would be in the best interests of both the TDP as well as the PRP to join hands, if the Congress has to be defeated. Those who have not come from the TDP are not accepting the idea. If such an alliance takes place, they might even prefer to join the Congress, sources say. As of now, Chiranjeevi has no answer!

Importent Seven PRP MLA Candidates jumps into Congress Party

Chiranjeevi_committee_144471196

At least seven MLAs belonging to Praja Rajyam Party are eager to join the Congress party as early as possible.

According to the Gandhi Bhavan sources, these MLAs, a couple of them belonging to Rayalaseema, one MLA from Telagnana and rest from coastal Andhra contacted Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy individually in the last two days and expressed their willingness to join the Congress. They are apparently lost hope in PRP president Chiranjeevi’s abilities to lead the party to victory at least in the next elections.

According to them, Chiranjeevi is heavily depending on a few leaders surrounding him and is not a position to chalk out strategies. At least their political future would be secured, if they joined the Congress, they felt.

However, YSR asked them not to be hasty. “If you join the Congress now, I will get a bad image of poaching the MLAs in the initial days itself. You be there in the PRP and then, support the Congress. In the long run, I will protect your interests,” he is learnt to have told them.

PRP and TDP together to put a check to Congress in GHM elections

Chiranjeevi(3)

Congress Party has almost swept the MLA and MP seats in the last General election held in Greater Hyderabad -Ranga Reddy districts.

Now the Municipal Corporations is getting ready for elections in GHM. There is clear edge for congress to win these elections.

To put a check to Congress party, TDP and PRP along with CPI and CPM are going to form Grand alliance for this elections leaving TRS apart.

Primary discussion on this already took place between TDP and PRP.

We should also remember that GHM constitutes with maxim settlers who influence the elections result. This might have forced these parties to keep TRS at distance from Grand alliance.
