Sureka Chiranjeevi seeks the blessings

chiru-pelli
Smt. Sureka Chiranjeevi has arrived Palakollu of East Godavari district on 2nd April and then she went to the temple of Ksheera Ramalingeswara Swamy temple for blessing of the Lord Rama.

The she went to Saibaba temple ti seek the blessings of Lord Saibaba. There she attended the Saha Pankthi Bojanaalu and had her lunch with the other devotees.

Surka was accompanied by Koppineedi Vasanthalaxmi (close relative of Chiru) and Allu family.

Sureka will be accompanying Chiru to file the nomination today in Palakollu.

‘PR gave Rs 50 lakh discount for seat’

prp-flag
The PR Prakasam district organising secretary, Mr Battula Brahmananda Reddy, has alleged that the party leaders had demanded money from him for the Parchuru ticket. “I was asked to give Rs 2.5 crore for the Parchuru seat. They said a concession of Rs 50 lakh is being given to me as I have been with the party since its inception,” he said.

“Chiranjeevi and his brothers have no right to talk about corruption,” he said.

However, Mr Brahmananda Reddy was not the only dissident giving trouble to the PR. Party chief Chiranjeevi, who preached Gandhigiri in Shankardada Zindabad, the Telugu remake of Lage Raho Munnabhai, is now stumped by Gandhigiri himself. He is clueless about how to deal with leaders who are silently squatting in front of the party office.

Rayalaseema leaders like Mr Masala Eeranna and Muleti Sudarshan, brother of former minister M. Mareppa, are sitting on a dharna in front of the office. They have made it clear that they will not end the protest until their demands are met.

Other parties too are struggling with dissidents. With just a day left for the withdrawal of nominations for the first phase elections, parties are still trying to convince rebels — some of them even sitting MLAs — who have filed nomination as rebels to withdraw.

The Congress is worried as several influential constituency-level leaders have entered the fray as rebels.

It is believed that the Congress high command has asked the state leadership to “talk” to the rebels and convince them to withdraw. Both the CM and PCC president have asked the rebels to respect the list drawn up by the high command.

The TD and the TRS camps too are tense as the candidates who had filed nominations in each other’s constituencies have not withdrawn from the fray yet.

Most of the “TD-planted” nominees in the TRS constituencies are defying the party leadership’s missive. Mr Naidu has reportedly asked all of the them to withdraw in the early hours of Thursday to avoid further confusion in the Mahakutami. But only one candidate, Mr P.L. Srinivas, has heeded Mr Naidu’s words and has pulled out of the race.

Former mayor Mr Teegala Krishna Reddy, Mr M.N. Srinivas, Mr Sudhir Reddy are still in the contest.

The TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao too has appealed to the rebels and other “non-official” candidates to withdraw.

Meanwhile, the EC on Wednesday rejected 844 nominations.

Total prohibition, if comes to power: Chiru

chiru-narakoduru
Muramalla (East Godavari dt.): Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi has expressed the resolve to achieve total prohibition if the party comes to power. The focus will be initially on removing belt shops. The PRP is also committed to implementing the Rs. 100 package of food items on which it has done the homework. The party’s intention is to reduce the cost of living but not to merely compete with other parties in using populism as a means to garner votes.

Addressing a press conference here hours before winding up his Praja Ankita Yatra of East Godavari district on Tuesday, Mr. Chiranjeevi said his party announced a slew of welfare schemes on the basis of expert advise and there was no reason why it could not keep its promises.

Gas share
The PRP might face difficulties in fulfilling the people’s aspirations but it firmly believed that nothing was impossible if corruption was checked. The PRP also decided to do its best to secure the State’s share in K-G basin gas reserves discovered by Reliance Industries Limited and to set up State Gas Corporation if the need arose. The State’s share would be protected first before thinking of gas supply to domestic consumers.

“The Chief Minister is giving a wrong picture that I am opposed to Rajiv Arogyasri and Jala Yagnam whereas my stand has been consistent that corruption is defeating the purpose of those schemes. It is understandable that the Chief Minister is trying to mislead the people and, by doing so he is acknowledging that the PRP has grown into a force to reckon with,” observed Mr. Chiranjeevi.

Security problem
Mr. Chiranjeevi said security was a big problem in East Godavari district as the police have apparently failed in doing their duty properly. His entourage could move with great difficulty particularly in Konaseema area but the police appeared to be unconcerned as there was no crowd control at all. However, he was told by Superintendent of Police Y Nagi Reddy during a telephonic conversation, that some PRP leaders sounded confident of ensuring safety of their leader, which was not the reality.

Later, speaking at a packed roadshow at Amalapuram, Mr. Chiranjeevi compared the plight of people of Andhra Pradesh during the Congress and TDP regimes with what Lord Rama had endured in His 14-year-long exile in the forests (Vanavasam). “Bring back Rama Rajyam to put an end to your ordeals,” he said.

Balaiah thigh-thumping before Roja

balayya_roja1238521315

Nandamuri Balakrishna, Telugu Desam Party’s only show master at present, is doing too much thigh-thumping these days; and thereby becoming a laughing stock before the people.

On many occasions, people are deliberately asking him to thump thighs just for fun. They want to see how Balaiah would react to their demand. And when he does, they are laughing at him.

On Tuesday, Balaiah thumped his thighs and twirled his moustache in front of Roja, who is contesting from Chandragiri constituency. He thought he would prove his “manliness” before his ex-heroine in many films. Roja, just smiled and turned her face to the other side!

Praja Rajyam loses hope in Telangana

prajarajyam14
With polling just 15 days away, the Praja Rajyam leadership has decided to focus on Andhra and Rayalseema regions as it is losing hopes on the Telangana region where it has no organisational base.

The ongoing tour of the PR chief, Mr Chiranjeevi, in Godavari districts strengthens this view as he would continue to tour these districts till April 3, says a source.

Interestingly, Chiranjeevi’s actor brother and Yuva Rajyam president, Mr Pavan Kalyan, is taking up a three-day tour in Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam districts. Mr Pavan, who is also looking after Telangana affairs cancelled his tour in Mahbubnagar district to campaign in north Andhra. Party sources said the leadership feels that focusing on regions where the party has a clout is better than concentrating on the entire state, “We enjoy considerable sway in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions. So we will focus our attention in these regions to win maximum seats,” said a senior leader on condition of anonymity. Right from the inception of the party, the PR has failed to evoke a good response in Telangana despite its categorical support to separate statehood for Telangana.

Krishnam Raju denied PRP ticket?

chiru_with_krishnamraju
Film producer and Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) general secretary Allu Aravind Monday filed his nomination for Ankapalli Lok Sabha constituency in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Keeping everybody guessing till the last minute, Allu Aravind reached Visakhapatnam from Hyderabad to file his papers on the last day of filing of nominations.

His name was included in the fourth list of candidates released Monday. There was suspense as to which constituency he will contest from. Some party leaders had hinted that he might contest from Visakhapatnam.

Allu Aravind is brother-in-law of actor-turned-politician and Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi. He is considered to be the brain behind Chiranjeevi’s plunge into politics.

Allu Aravind is the only close relative of Chiranjeevi who will be contesting the next month’s elections. The actor’s brothers, actors Pavan Kalyan and Naga Babu are not contesting, while Chiranjeevi will be contesting from Tirupati assembly constituency.

Meanwhile, the party has denied a ticket to veteran actor and former union minister Krishnam Raju, who was expected to be fielded from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency.

Raju had quit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to join Chiranjeevi’s party last month and party sources had hinted that he might get the ticket from Visakhapatnam or Narsapuram.

PRP has fielded Srinivas Yadav from Visakhapatnam. The other Lok Sabha candidates in the fourth list are Kasani Gyaneswar (Chevella) and Balraj Goud (Mahabubnagar). Both Gyaneswar and Goud are leaders of Mana Party, which has entered into seat sharing agreement with PRP.

Can Indecisive Chiranjeevi Become Efficient CM In Future?

prajarajyam21

Megastar Chiranjeevi has finally taken the full plunge into politics and though he took off with few stutters, he has been able to balance himself very well and has now picked up the tricks of the trade quickly.

However, there is one feedback that many have been giving to Chiru and that happens to be his indecisive nature. Apparently, it is being said that whenever an issue is coming up or the need for an agenda is required, Chiru has been adopting a cat on the wall approach and is not coming up with any concrete statements.

So, many in the political circles are trying to foresee a situation wherein Chiru does manage to become the Chief Minister in the future then how would his stand be.

It is true that he has been urging the voters to give him one chance to bring about that ‘Maarpu’ but then unless he comes out with a clear cut plan as to what his party would be doing once they would come to power, it would get difficult for the voter to get confidence on him or his team.

However, throngs of crowds have been coming to Chiru’s political meets and rallies but how many of them would get converted into votes for this year is a mystery that will be revealed on the election result day.

On the other hand, if Chiru is not able to form a government this time, then his party must be in a position to prove their mettle despite being on the opposition bench by doing some genuinely concerned service to the people.

That is the genuine and honest manner to win the hearts of the people. Given his intellect and thinking, he has been able to sit on the throne of Tollywood for many years, so sitting on the chair of the Chief Minister might also work out if he follows few fundamentals. What say megastar???

prajarajyam131
This is the news from Vizag. Many PRP leaders who tried for Assembly and Parliament tickets couldn’t get the tickets. These rebel PRP leaders formed a new party with title ‘Jai Chiranjeeva’ and they filed nominations in 15 Assembly constituencies in Vizag region as independent members.

2nd April is the last date for withdrawals, PRP leaders should do all the magic to compromise with those rebel members, otherwise, PRP would pay high penalty from these rebel members.

Stone Pelting at Chiranjeevi!

prajarajyam111

Praja Rajyam Party
president Chiranjeevi on Monday virtually experienced the fact that there are not just bouquets, but also brickbats in politics.

A disgruntled party worker pelted stone at Chiranjeevi, as he was addressing a road show at Ravulapalem in East Godavari district. Though he was not hurt, he could feel the resentment among his fans for neglecting them in issuance of tickets. The miscreant was immediately caught and beaten up by angry supporters of Chiru then and there itself.

A couple of months ago, Chiranjeevi was hit by eggs by some Telangana Rashtra Samithi workers, when he was conducting road show in Warangal district. He should be careful; who knows he might even face bomb attacks in sensitive areas like Rayalaseema!

Tumultuous Reception to Chiru

prajarajyam15
It is tumultuous reception all the way to PRP president Chiranjeevi in wetland areas of East Godavari on penultimate day, Sunday, which PRP cadres not at all expected. Chiranjeevi received rousing welcome and rooftops, trees and two-storied buildings were occupied by youth and women to have glimpse of mega star. He was four hours behind the schedule, but people eagerly waited for him, braving scorching sun in many places.

“We want to hear what he will promise and want to compare with the speech of Junior NTR, who toured this place recently,” said Satyanarayana Chowdary, hardware shop owner in Mandapeta town.

Chiranjeevi’s speech was different each day during his last four days.

He made it a point to raise farmer’s issues on Sunday, as he was touring wetland area, where the number of farmers was more.

He lashed out at Agriculture Minister Raghuveera Reddy, who, he said, was responsible for non-availability of fertilizers on time to farmers and pesticides at affordable prices.

“We can see greenery in some places here. But there is no happiness on the faces of farmers as the investment by farmers increased four times,” he said while people responded huge applause. VVS Chowdary, who is expected to contest as PRP candidate from Mandapeta along with district convener M.S. Chakravarthi, was with Chiranjeevi on his special vehicle.

‘No votes for glamour’
In Anaparti, he made it clear that glamour only did not fetch votes, but response from people showed the strength of the party.

He asked voters to go for mouth publicity which was one of the best sources to get the party to power. He said all parties were now chanting `social justice’ mantra.

He cautioned people that if they gave vote to Congress or TDP they would suffer for five more years. Kovvuri Narsi Reddy, Padala Venktarama Reddy, Relangi Nageswara Rao, Satti Trinatha Reddy, ZPTC Kukkala Naresh and others followed Chiranjeevi in Anaparti.

He was received at Lalacheruvu on Rajahmundry outskirts around 7.30 p.m. which is five hours behind schedule.

His vehicle moved fast on the streets of Rajahmundry and had stopped at many places. Chall Sankar Rao, Bommana Rajkumar, Lieutenant Murthy Jasti and others participated.
