“Meet and Greet Sri. A. M. Radha Krishna – SecretaryIn-chargeState PRP Office”

While the people of Andhra Pradesh eagerly await the results of the State elections, NRIs in the US are continuing their efforts and playing an active role in shaping the future of the state of Andhra Pradesh. In this continuing effort, a series of “Meet and Greet” events were organized by the NRI Praja Rajyam Party in Los Angeles and California Bay Area, on April 28th and May 2nd respectively, to welcome the Secretary In-charge of the State PRP Office, Mr. A. Bay Area local and MLA contestant from the Madugula constituency, Vishakapatanam, Mr. Prasada Rao Pyala felicitated Mr. A. M. Radha Krishna. A shawl and a memento of appreciation was presented by the organizers Srinivasa Manapragada, Srikanth Palivela, Ram Thota, Sekhar Ganji, and Chandru Seelam at grand gathering along with staunch PRP supporters, Srini Chimata, Veera Babu Prathipati, Reddiah Prathipati, Tulasi Ram, Raja Brahma, Krishna, Gokul, Kishore, Hemadri, Prasad Magina, Sai Manapragada, Anil Annam, Kumar Vidadala to Mr. A. Prominent among the topics discussed were the debate of the future policies for the betterment of the State of Andhra Pradesh, the party philosophy on a separate state for Telangana and the issue of quota allocation of seats for backward classes. Both Mr. Pyala and Mr. Krishna said PRP would get enough seats that would play significantly key role in AP politics. Mr. Pyala said that one has to be realistic and expect about 125 seats. Speaking on the possibility of forming a government, Mr. Krishna expressed the sentiment that a coalition government is inevitable and that neither YSR nor CBN have enough support which left only the megastar as the only candidate to be the next CM of Andhra Pradesh. When asked to comment about the allegations that the allocation of seats to the backward class candidates were done in PRP weak constituencies, where there was no hope for PRP to win anyways, Mr. Krishna responded by listing some of the known strong backward class candidates that would win their respective seats.PRP gave seats to many social sections (SamAjika Vargam) which were not even recognized by other political parties. One of such assembly seat was given to Jyothi Rao Pule community (in Adilabad district) Mr. Pathak said that he is pleasantly surprised to see such an active participation by the energetic NRI crowd in the politics of India and this inspiring movement to the charm and charisma of Chiranjeevi and compared it to historic election of US president Mr. Barack Obama. Mr. Pathak further congratulated the members of the NRI group and promised his support in the on-going activities of NRI Praja Rajyam Party.

In Los Angeles, the NRIs hosted Mr. A. M. Radha Krishna at the Woodlands Indian Cuisine, Artesia, CA. The gathering was welcomed by Satya Gattem, LA Coordinator of Pravasa Chiranjeevi Organization, NRI Praja Rajyam Party. Among the attendees were like minded NRI’s from different spheres of life to participate and air their views regarding the party’s policies, programs, perception, performance and clinically analyze and scrutinize the differing ramifications and consequences arising out of the current political dynamics, zeroing on the possible outcomes and inviting honest submissions spanning from the social penetration, achievements, strengths, weaknesses and shortcomings in the recently held general elections in the state of AP. This has attracted a good gathering of active and passive individuals and sympathizers of PRP who candidly and categorically put forward their crisp, clear and fair observations about the party’s manifested actions and their possible course of outcomes. They appreciated the corner stone of PRP’s emergence as an agent of change advocating SOCIAL JUSTICE, envisioning new order in the state politics and the mega effort to break the established political hegemony by a few who relegate the majority to in consequential and setting a new trend by his honest and pragmatic efforts to make politics of the state more egalitarian. Sri Radha Krishna has given detailed outlook about the PRP candidate’s selection for different constituencies and the various compulsions they went through in the process, he also has given a fair expectation of the election outcome district wise and elicited the reports and analysis from the ground level and alluded confidence that PRP would come to power and will be a ‘force to reckon with’ in the national politics .He explained the aberrations and disturbances faced by the party, Highlighting the monetization of politics by congress and TDP and its consequential effects of influencing listed candidates to jeopardize the social justice and also the negative effect of the false propaganda by the not so objective print and visual media whose naked and blatant leanings was one major stumbling block. Attendees : Satya Gattem, Sekhar Seera, Chakravarthy Thota, Govind Vundru, Saha Maredu, Ganesh Botcha, Venkat Yenumula, Praveen, Srikanth, etc.

PRP victory predicted 300 years ago!

prajarajyam-4

Believe it or not, the launch of Praja Rajyam Party and its victory in the elections was predicted three centuries ago by none other than Sri Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy, alias Brahmam garu!

This was revealed by PRP president Chiranjeevi’s brother in law and party’s general secretary Allu Aravind, at the 316th birth year of Veerabrahmendra Swamy. He recalled that the launch of a political party called Praja Rajyam and its commitment to social justice was mentioned in “Kalagnanam” written by Swamy 300 years ago.

“Somehow, we could not capitalise on this aspect during the elections. But still, the PRP will come to power, as per the predictions of Brahmamgaru. What he had predicted will definitely come true,” Aravind said.

‘Poaching flu’ scare spreads in Chiranjeevi, KCR camps

trs_397674492

Prajarajyam chief Chiranjeevi and Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrasekhar Rao are in no mood to let their guard down and take a break after the gruelling campaign unlike chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu. While the CM is cooling off in Shimla, Naidu headed off to an unknown destination in Europe.

Having received information that Congress “money managers’’ are on the prowl to poach their candidates, both Chiranjeevi and KCR are on an alert and are taking steps to keep the flock together.

The two leaders have reportedly started fortification measures to prevent the cash-rich Congress getting anywhere near their candidates.

Though both parties are ready to join hands with the Congress if the situation warrants, it is the ‘retail purchase’ of candidates that they fear. The negotiation or bargaining should be at the party level and not at the individual level, sources of PRP and TRS said.

Sources said it is the PRP which is more worried, as the party is said to have gathered information that some of its candidates have already been ‘won over’ by influential Congress candidates in several constituencies. Suspicion has fallen on some important leaders who joined the party just before the elections.

For now, Chiranjeevi has no plans to detain his candidates in the office or pack them off to a summer resort. But once the results are out on May 16, a camp to keep the victorious candidates together is not ruled out. This again depends on the number of seats it would win, sources said.

In the meantime, the actor-turned-politician is indulging in psychological operations to keep up the spirits of his herd. In the ongoing district-wise review meetings with candidates, Chiranjeevi is trotting out theories of silent revolution, huge turnout of women and youth, etc., and trying to convince the candidates that the party would form the government winning at least 160 seats.

The scene in the TRS is different. Telangana Bhawan, the party headquarters, has turned into an impregnable fortress since the last several days. The party chief has plans to detain all the candidates in the office from May 15 onwards.

The elected MLAs of the party will not be allowed to come out till the new government is formed. Sources said even the cellphone calls would be monitored.

The need for such precaution in the TRS has arisen following the split engineered in the party by the Congress in the 2004 elections.

Telugu Desam dismisses Chiru’s claim

kadiam_srihari_650207113

Telugu Desam leader Kadiam Srihari has made light of the claim by Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi that his party would get majority and maintained that the seats of the four-party Grand Alliance would cross the magic figure.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, he said PRP’s performance would be much below par the expectations of Mr. Chiranjeevi and the fledgling party would not bag more than 30 seats.

It was not in a position to secure even 10 seats in as many districts in Telangana, he added.

Mr. Srihari also denied speculation that TDP was trying to woo Praja Rajyam saying where was the need for it when GA would get majority. On the likely partners in a Telugu Desam-led government, he said the respective parties would decide whether they should be part of the coalition regime.

He also ruled out the possibility of the party supporting either NDA or UPA at the Centre. The party along with the Left was strengthening a non-Congress, non-BJP alternative .

Fans of Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi are upbeat

chiranjeevi_news_photos

Fans of Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi are upbeat.

The Megastar’s repeated claim that his party would secure a comfortable majority to form a government seems to be working like a rejuvenating tonic for them.

Even otherwise, Chiru being interviewed by national channels, who dub him as the ‘King maker’ in the event of a hung Assembly in Andhra Pradesh, is reason enough for his supporters to keep their smile intact.

Chiranjeevi, on his part, almost surprised everybody with his strategic answers to queries on his role in a coalition government.

Asked which party would he support in the event of a fractured verdict, he simply said he would cross the bridge only when it comes to.

Chiranjeevi to meet cadres

11_chiru1_6445871951

HYDERABAD: Prajarajyam party president K Chiranjeevi would soon embark on an elaborate exercise to interact with mandal-level and village-level PRP leaders over the next 10 days.

Though the schedule has not been finalized, messages have been sent to all contestants to shortlist at least 20 names in their respective constituencies who sincerely took the party to the masses. These 20 leaders would have direct interaction with the party president and they in turn would be asked to identify 50 leaders at the mandal-level and village-level, who would have an opportunity to meet the party president and share their experiences over dinner.

Party sources said that the dinner diplomacy was being planned to keep the cadres’ morale high till the day of counting, May 16. Strangely, Chiranjeevi would be doing an exercise which his arch political rival and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu completed well before the conduct of elections in the state.

Meanwhile, the PRP president was on a high on Monday with more than satisfactory feedback from contestants in East Godavari, West Godavari and Visakhapatnam. The review meetings held to assess the party’s performance in East Godavari and West Godavari ended on a buoyant note with party leaders exuding confidence that the party would win 28 out of the 34 assembly seats.

Contestants who attended the meeting claimed that women and first-time voters in both the Godavari districts came out in large numbers to cast a `decisive vote’. The polling percentage in both the Godavari districts was as high as 81.5 per cent. The PRP president has reviewed the party’s performance in 22 districts and the last one on the list is Krishna district, which would be reviewed on Tuesday.

In response to a query, contestants from West Godavari said that they would strive for the victory of any candidate from Palacole, in case the party president decided to retain the Tirupati assembly seat.

In another development, the party demanded the state government to announce and ex gratia of Rs 1 lakh to 38 people, mostly poor farmers, who died of sun stroke across the state in the past 48 hours.

Chiranjeevi to keep Praja Rajyam leaders engaged

chiru-meet

Regardless of what the outcome of the elections would be, Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) president Chiranjeevi has decided to sit in the office to ensure that the party does not go off the track.

He is contemplating to announce programmes for the party leaders and workers to ensure that the flock is together.

According to party sources, the long gap between the polls and the declaration of results has forced him to adopt this strategy.

The leaders said if Chiranjeevi stayed away from the party office, no leader would take interest in the party affairs. Chiranjeevi may announce the party programme for the next two weeks after the completion of constituency-wise performance analysis. He directed several leaders, including his brother-in-law and party general secretary Allu Aravind, not to leave the headquarters for a while and asked him to participate in the analysis process.

Following Chiranjeevi’s directions, Allu Aravind has taken up party activity even though he wanted to undergo treatment for back pain. Chiranjeevi also instructed some other State-level leaders to stay put in the party office and pay attention to people’s affairs. Apparently, Chiranjeevi wants to put the PRP in the limelight till the results are announced though the activity may change after the results are declared.

Restructuring of the party may begin after the fourth of this month as Chiranjeevi himself stated that there was a need to reorganise the PRP.

He already announced the formation of separate wings for farmers and labourers. The committees and their presidents for these wings may be named the next week.

So far, the party has been functioning with convenors at the district, constituency and mandal levels and there is a need to announce full-fledged committees for them. Chiranjeevi may use the feedback coming from the candidates and other leaders to decide the right leaders for the district, constituency and mandal levels.

PRP functioning will be revamped: Chiranjeevi

prajarajyam01

“From now, on there will be a receptive leadership at the party headquarters and all the leaders, including the disaffected ones, will be taken in to confidence,’’ stated the Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi.
He would meet all the leaders, irrespective of their positions, and would accommodate all those who worked for the party in various positions. Chiranjeevi was interacting with mediapersons here Sunday in between the ongoing constituency-wise analysis of party performance. The exercise has nearly come to an end and just a few districts remained, he stated.
After May 4, he would start meeting leaders constituencywise, including disappointed ticket aspirants.
Due to lack of time before the polls, he was not able to meet all the people, the actor said. As many of the leaders were away campaigning, there was no one in the office to give the second-rung leaders a hearing and this had brought the “non-receptive’’ tag on the party, the PRP chief pointed out.
Lack of a proper communication system had caused some errors in selection of candidates, he conceded.
Irrespective of all these problems, the party had fared well in the elections, Chiranjeevi maintained, and exuded confidence that it would get a clear majority.
There was 72.5 percent polling in the State — 17 percent more than in the previous elections — and all the additional votes had gone into the PRP kitty, he said, adding that the feedback from the candidates corroborated his estimate. Ridiculing other parties for claiming credit for increase in the polling percentage, Chiranjeevi claimed that that was to be attributed to the rise of the PRP.
He critisised both the chief minister and Opposition leader for going off on vacations, “neglecting the people’s problems’’.
The paddy produced by the farmers was not bought at minimum support price on the pretext that it contained moisture, he alleged, and wondered why prices of essentials were not declining.
Asked what action the party would take in the case of candidates who did not campaign, Chiranjeevi said such things would be looked into. He admitted that some leaders had taken the polls lightly.
The PRP chief rubbished allegations that party tickets were sold, and stated that the canard was spread by disgruntled elements.
