Jr NTR Rocks

ntr_chandra112367351101
Success seems to be written large on this very versatile and talented actor, right from the day NTR has started his road shows he has been making grand speeches and they are being lapped up by the general public with a never before fervor. The actor is rocking to an extent that even YSR and Chiru are revaluating their poll plans, many analysts say that if NTR goes the way he has been going then he would make the voters swing in TDP’s way ultimately leading to the TDPs win.

Comparisons between the young scion and Balakrishna have also started and many say that he is a bigger pull than Balakrishna for the TDP, many say that Chiru also is fading off in comparison to the young NTR.

All said and done NTR is emerging as a winner for TDP and a threat for the Congress and the PRP. Indeed a star in many ways is NTR!!

I am confident we are going to win: Chiranjeevi

Chiranjeevi

It is just eight months since he floated his political party but Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi is very confident of winning the Andhra Pradesh assembly polls, being held along with the Lok Sabha elections April 16 and 23, and promises he will bring ‘a change’ in the state.

‘We will definitely get a number with which we can form government. I am confident,’ the 53-year-old Chiranjeevi told IANS in an exclusive interview, even rubbishing prospects of a hung assembly.

‘As of today I don’t entertain that kind of thought (of a hung assembly). I am confident that we are going to win. There is no chance of a hung assembly,’ the cine star, who launched his Praja Rajyam Party in August last year, said.

The actor, who belongs to the Kapu community, also hinted at the formation of a ‘fourth front’ with his party at the national level. ‘I think a fourth front will take shape. Some parties have already started discussing this,’ he said.

The megastar is hoping to better the record of his predecessor and matinee idol N.T. Rama Rao, who became chief minister within nine months of launching the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1982. He has acted in 149 films and ruled the Telugu film industry for over two decades.

So what makes Konidela Siva Shankara Varaprasad or Chiranjeevi different from his rivals. In this exclusive interview to IANS, he spoke about his ambitions and his vision.

Excerpts.

Q: You said you entered politics to serve the people. All parties including Congress and TDP claim they are fighting for the poor. How different are you and your party from others?

A. They may say the same dialogue but I have the sincerity. I am a white paper. I have a clean image. I want to serve the people with humility and sincerity. Politicians have made use of peoples’ votes but do not care for them. There are no roads, public transportation, health and educational facilities. They claim the state has developed but the fact is that a very pathetic situation is prevailing in the state and people are dying of hunger.

Q: How do you see your party’s prospects? How many seats is it going to win in the assembly elections?

A: We will definitely get a number with which we can form government. I am confident. (The party needs 147 seats for simple majority in the 294-member assembly). Some people have come out with fake surveys. They want to demoralise our cadres. But people have realised this and they are consolidating the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP).

Q: In the event of the elections throwing up a hung assembly, which party would you like to join hands with?

A: As of today I don’t entertain that kind of thought. I am confident that we are going to win. There is no chance of a hung assembly.

Q: You have been attracting huge crowds at every public meeting but do you think your party can convert this support into votes, and how are you going to achieve this?

A: I take the major responsibility of converting this support into votes. There are also local leaders. Our schemes and our promises will make people vote for us. For instance, we are promising a scheme under which a poor family will get a month’s ration only at Rs.100. This scheme is necessary in a state like ours where the poor are dying of starvation.

Q: By promising such schemes, do you want to become another NTR?

A: I don’t compare myself with the late NTR, but I want to give livelihood to people. He was pro-poor and people want me to substitute him and bring a change, and I will do that.

Q: The Congress government claims that it implemented several pro-people schemes during the last five years and is seeking another term on the basis of its performance. Your comment?

A: Some of these schemes were very good but behind these schemes there is corruption and commission. It is a sugar-coated poison. They are looting public money.

Q: What role do you foresee for your party at the national level. Will it join the Third Front?

A: We are concentrating on state politics. We have to work on what role we will have at the national level. I think a fourth front will take shape. Some parties have already started discussing this. As of today I don’t know which parties will come together to form such a front.

Q: Will the Third Front minus TDP become the fourth front?

A: Anything may happen.

Q: What about Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party?

A: Mr Pawar offered his party’s symbol to us but we have other options also. There is still time and we have filed an appeal in the court seeking a common symbol for the party following the Election Commission’s refusal to grant us the same.

Chiranjeevi had wanted the symbol of the railway engine for his party, but the poll panel refused, saying it is a new party and has not fought the elections.

Though the PRP has yet to come out with an official poll manifesto, the proposals in its draft manifesto include promising free education to girls from kindergarten to post graduation level, and free education to boys and girls from poor families.

The state will hold simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly polls on April 16 and 23.

Chandrababu Sees Future CM In Jr NTR

023
Ever since young tiger NTR Jr has got into the political fray, a lot has been spoken about him and even he has been speaking a lot. Since the first impact is always important, NTR has created a very strong impact not just among the masses but also among the Telugu Desam circles.

It is known that Chandrababu Naidu had high hopes on NTR’s political canvassing and so far it has been working out. So now, it is being said that Naidu is looking at NTR as the most prospective successor to him in terms of not only leading the party but also the state as the Chief Minister.

This opinion is said to be seconded by even Yerramnaidu who is said to be one of the crucial members of the TDP think tank. Sources say that Yerram had expressed his view after having watched NTR in action during the Srikakulam trip. Many were seeing Yerram beaming with pride when NTR was rolling out his words. One wonders what the Young Tiger has to say to all this.

NTR Junior has Congress, PRP in a spin

00121
SRIKAKULAM: With the young Nandamuri scion, NTR Jr, completing a hugely successful tour of Srikakulam and now all set to roll out in Vizianagaram Sunday, both the Congress and the Praja Rajyam Party are in a spin.
And needless to say, the Telugu Desam is breathing much easier, after being winded by the blow from Praja Rajyam Party chief Chiranjeevi whose recent Praja Ankita Yatra saw several yellow leaders leave the party.
The party, however, is leaving nothing to chance and everyone, right from high command elements and NTR Jr’s personal staff down to the cadres is working hard to make the Chaitanya Yatra another grand success.
And the young man has what it takes to work the masses — body language, simplicity of speech, and focus on Congress corruption without direct digs against the Praja Rajyam or its honcho.
The turn of events has brought smiles to the face of TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu who, appearing on a live programme on a private TV channel complimented NTR Jr.
Earlier, during the final day of his roadshow in Srikakulam, NTR Junior deplored the Congress’ lack of propriety in not honouring senior leader and former prime minister, the late PV Narasimha Rao, by naming any major project in the State after him, if not the international airport.
Addressing the gathering from his “chariot”, NTR Jr declaimed: “Congress means corruption, and corruption means Congress. Without bribes no work can be done in the State. The time has now come to change all that — and the voters can do so by returning the TDP.” Making an indirect reference to PRP chief Chiranjeevi, the 25-year-old dude in khaki said that the TDP had already proved “social justice” by uplifting various communities and leaders in the state.
He cited K Yerrannaidu and K Pratibha Bharathi from the district among those who had benefited from the TDP’s social justice.

People Say Jr NTR Is Better Than Chiru

chiru_jrntr1237195801

When two famous personalities from the same field tend to compete against each other, comparisons tend to arise between each other irrespective of their age or experience. Something like that is right now happening between megastar Chiranjeevi and young tiger NTR Jr.

It is being said by many people that though Chiranjeevi has the appeal and charm due to his film charisma he has not been that pounding with his dialogues and words in his speeches. On the other hand, NTR Jr has been romping with some high adrenaline dialogues and words which are causing impact.

People are now saying that NTR jr is better than Chiru but then it must be borne in mind that if he has to keep up this image, NTR has to deliver the same kind of goods for the rest of his trip while Chiru still has the chance to come up with a series of high voltage script and perhaps overtake NTR in the climax. This should be interesting.

Jr NTR’s Food Imitation Of Grand-Pa

0082

It is a known fact that young tiger NTR jr has begun his political canvassing tour and at the onset, he has taken every step possible that will remind the people of his legendary grandfather, the great NTR. Stuff like his Khaki dress, a typical NTR type dialogue delivery and the fluency of Telugu are some examples.

It now appears that NTR Jr has taken a step extra towards this path and there is news that he has been following a similar diet that of his grandfather while he was doing his political tours or when he took up the divine roles of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. It is primarily a very ‘Saathvik’ vegetarian diet.

This comprised of Perugannam (curd rice) and Onion and now Jr is said to be going with the same diet along with a horde of fruit juices and health conscious diet. Now Jr NTR is also taking such kind of food it seems.

NTR Jr. takes potshots at PRP

SRIKAKULAM: Telugu Desam Party star campaigner N.T. Rama Rao Junior has indirectly hit out at the newly-formed Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) for trying to hijack the plank of social justice from the TDP by merely talking about it.

“The TDP has actually been practising it since its inception,” Mr. Rama Rao said while addressing a well-attended meeting at the Seven Roads Junction here on Saturday. “You people know this fact better than me, as I too was born just about the time the party was born,” he added.

Substantiating the party’s track record in the actual implementation of social justice philosophy, Mr. Rama Rao said that the TDP made G.M.C. Balayogi Speaker of the Lok Sabha, BC leader K. Yerrannaidu Union Minister and K. Pratibha Bharathi Speaker of the Assembly. The party was also instrumental in making A.P.J. Abdul Kalam President.

The TDP, when it was in power, was instrumental in introduction of Rs. 2-a-kg rice scheme, Janatha clothing for the poor and supply of power to agriculture at subsidised price.

While the party promoted the concept of Janmabhoomi, the Congress Government was selling away all available government land to private parties, he ridiculed.

Stating that only the TDP championed the cause of self-respect of the Telugus, Mr. Rama Rao said that when P.V. Narasimha Rao was the Prime Minister, his grandfather (NTR), in order to support a Telugu man, had not fielded a party candidate against him in the by-election at Nandyal.

He also found fault with the Congress Government for not naming the International Airport at Hyderabad after either N.T. Rama Rao or P.V. Narasimha Rao.

Campaign ends
Junior NTR’s three-day blitzkrieg covering 10 Assembly segments in the district, including rikakulam Parliamentary constituency, concluded.

However, Junior NTR failed to keep up his time and was behind schedule by three hours, much to the discomfort and chagrin of the people. He is scheduled to continue his campaign for the party in Vizianagaram district on Sunday.

Jr NTR mother concerned

02

The mother of Junior NTR enquired about his health over phone on Sunday morning when he was getting ready for the road shows from a make-shift night halt camp. She was anguished that he was moving around in the sun.

The star campaigner revealed this at a road show and said that he tried to calm down his mother that he was overjoyed by the affection shown by the crowds everywhere ignoring the hot sun and urged her not to worry.

Junior NTR praised the Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, as a competent driver to steer the Andhra Pradesh bus in the right direction. “He drove it successfully for nine years by developing all major sectors. Later, he handed over the bus to Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy who has been steering the iron body after selling the engine. Another trainee driver is aspiring to handle the same steering. However the commuters (public) are demanding Mr Naidu for a safe and healthy drive,” he said.
