Veda Vyas is resigning to congress party tomorrow. He would be joining Praja Rajyam party day after tomorrow officialy. He is very close associate to PRP Chief Chiranjeevi family.
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Monday asserted that the ‘grand alliance’ by the Opposition would not have any impact on the Congress’ prospects in Telangana as the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), hitherto perceived as a dominant force in the region, has become ‘non-existent’ now.
The Chief Minister claimed that a major chunk of TRS’ vote-bank shifted to the Praja Rajyam (PR) as the people lost faith in the TRS leadership. “This will benefit the Congress which is set to come back to power again,” he said. Dr. Reddy made these comments during an informal chat with reporters in the Assembly lobbies here.
Voters in constituencies like Husnabad, Nerella and Ramagundam in Karimnagar district, seen as TRS strongholds, moved to PR while the party’s base in other districts was eroding fast, he said. In Nizamabad, for instance, the overall vote share of TRS was around 4.5 per cent, barring Dichpalli where the TRS was expected to give a tough fight.
When reminded about the demand from Congress leaders that party high command announce its decision on Telangana before elections, he said the leadership had clarified that Telangana was very much alive in its thought process.“I don’t express my views on Telangana,” was his reply to repeated queries on his stand on the issue. The Congress was a strong force in Telangana districts, including Khammam where the CPI(M) lost significant ground “thanks to its local MLA from the district”.
Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi said that he was toying with the idea of contesting the Assembly elections from two constituencies. Tirupati is under active consideration, while another constituency is yet to be chosen, he told a press conference here, a remote village in Jukkal constituency, on Monday. The PR chief said that public requests had been pouring in from Nalgonda and Mummidivaram in East Godavari district. “People want me to be in the fray from these places to address local issues. People from Mummidivaram want me to contest to contain the plundering of natural gas by Reliance,” he said. Confident on verdict Replying a query, he asserted that there would be no hung Assembly and that people would give a clear verdict in favour of the Praja Rajyam. The PR would field candidates in all 294 constituencies, he said. Mr. Chirajeevi ruled out an alliance with the BJP, saying the PR was a secular party. “I can’t make out why this question is being repeatedly asked despite our clarification.” He dismissed the question of having a “clandestine” understanding with the BJP in some constituencies. He stated that there was no possibility of an alliance with the TRS even if it severs ties with the “mahakootami” and comes back to the PR. “We will not entertain a wavering party.” Question to YSR When his attention was drawn to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s allegations that he (Chiranjeevi) had done nothing for his native village Mogalturu, he shot back: “Let him say what he did for his birthplace, Balapanur, before becoming an MLA and the Opposition leader and subsequently the Chief Minister.” What all he did was only for Pulivendula. Mr. Chiranjeevi said if the PR comes to power, he would order an inquiry into the irregularities in ‘Jalayagnam’ works and projects which were not viable would be shelved. Only those which were really required would be continued. Comments Strongly reacting to the sarcastic remarks by major political parties against the Praja Rajyam that the party has no “rangu”, “ruchi” and “vaasana” Mr. Chiranjeevi admitted at Banswada, “Yes! Our party has no colour, taste and smell, because it is as pure as drinking water which doesn’t have these properties.” Not naming any leader or political party who made these comments, he said only those who changed their colours like a chameleon as often as they required for political expediency had made these remarks. “Our party has no taste as it doesn’t know the taste of corruption. It has no smell and only those parties which attacked it with such baseless remarks stink,” he retorted. Impressed by the crowds that gathered on the either side of the road and on rooftops in this town located in the agriculturally rich part of the district, he said people were disappointed by the leaders in government who were plundering the public exchequer in the name of construction of projects. “How will they construct all the projects at a time,” the PR chief asked. Projects must be constructed as per their necessity and in a phased manner at places where they are really needed,” he maintained. Referring to the Singur project, he said water shortage for irrigation in the district would be solved only when its water was completely diverted to the Nizamsagar project and the Praja Rajyam would strive for this.

The same assurance was given by N T P Chief T Devender Goud as well in Uppal outskirts of city. This dharna was held as government has given around 830 acres of land to a Delhi based company called Sun City, on Monday company people inspected the lands. Farmers later held a dharna at Uppal X Roads. Filmstars are known for their vanity and politicians for their loudmouthed claims. Superstar-turned-politician Chiranjeevi is showing a mix of both and the message isn’t exactly going down well with the masses. A big hoarding facing a Secunderabad flyover that greets motorists everyday showcases the Prajarajyam founder ‘mana’ Chiru with the newly sworn-in president of the United States of America, Barack Obama. While one hoarding with pictures of both leaders with their hands raised in a similar manner, states in Telugu, “Today, Obama in America, tomorrow Chiru in Andhra Pradesh’. If this wasn’t presumptuous enough, the next sentence takes the cake ‘People are looking for a change’. Modesty, anyone?
Ever since Megastar Chiranjeevi has entered politics, it has to an extent brought down his charisma as a demigod since reality has set in and folks began to look at how best he can fit the bill as a leader and whether he has a background of public service or making a difference to the society the way he does in the silver screen.
While the blood bank and eye bank have been around, it is essential for Chiranjeevi to prove his presence as a politician and that depends on the public response. However, there is news that the two districts of Godavari slated to be the most powerful houses of power for Chiru have begun to lose interest in him.
Reports say that it is due to the lack of concrete vision or assurance till date that has not come from the ‘PrajaRajyam’ party or Chiru despite the number of months of his entry. Also, Chiru is yet to visit the place to know the ground reality situations the people out there are facing and that is another concern the locals are said to be expressing. The consequences for this would be known during the election time.
