Did N.T. Rama Rao, during his last days, ask his son Balakrishna to “kill” Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, who had deposed him, and show him the blood-stained sword?
Yes according to Mr Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, the other son-in-law of NTR who is now in the Congress.
Mr Rao made the stunning allegation to get back at Balakrishna for his Tues-day’s histrionics opposite the Daggubatis’ house in Karamchedu. Balakrishna had twirled his moustache and slapped his thigh to taunt his sister, Union minister D. Purandareswari.
Mr Rao on Wednesday released to the media, a letter he had written to Balak-rishna, which “reminded” the actor of the incident during the last days of NTR. The letter was dated February 1 and recalled the aftermath of the August 1995 coup during which Mr Naidu dethroned NTR, the party founder and then chief minister.
“I think you still remember the painful words of your father during his last days. He asked you (Balakrishna) to kill Mr Chandrababu Naidu and show him the sword stained with the blood of Mr Naidu,” Mr Rao wrote.
“He also said you (Balakrishna) would do it if you were his son,” Mr Rao said in the letter.
Mr Rao said the words were recorded and the CD is with Balakrishna.
Mr Rao asked Balakrishna to realise the “true colours” of Mr Naidu, who, he said, “uses people and discards them.”

NTR Jr. infuses new enthusiasm into cadre

VISAKHAPATNAM: NTR Junior struck an instant chord with people of the historical town of Bheemunipatnam when he said: “I came here long ago… ‘Simhadri’ was shot here and you people made it a big hit. It is because of your affection that I am able to stand before you like this today.”
The star campaigner, who has infused new enthusiasm into the party cadre and leaders alike, held roadshows in Bheemunipatnam and Tagarapuvalasa in the district and Madhurawada, Hanumanthawaka, MVP Colony, Shivajipalem, Asilametta, LIC junction and Jagadamba junction during the daylong campaign.
He was originally scheduled to start his roadshow from Bheemunipatnam at 9.30 a.m. Though he was two hours behind the schedule, the crowd waited patiently to see and hear the grandson of NTR. Seeing the enthusiastic response, Junior NTR took potshots at the Congress. He remarked: “I feel as though this is a victory meeting and not an election meeting. I am sure that you are going to bring back the TDP to power.”
The response at Tagarapuvalasa was even more encouraging. Thousands of women, children and youth gathered at the junction and took vantage points on rooftops and shop floors to catch a glimpse of the young star.
Describing Congress rulers as dictators who were looting the State, he said it was time for people to salvage Telugu honour and pride. Youth ran along with the convoy for quite some distance and cheered the star as he waved to them from atop his ‘ratham’ (mini bus).
Comparison
The crowds were enthused by the mannerisms and gesticulations of NTR Junior, whom they seemed to compare with his late grandfather. At Madhurawada, he made an indirect reference to Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi, saying some new people were coming and talking of social justice that was taken up by the TDP long ago.
“My responsibility has increased further and I will live up to your expectations,” he said on seeing the tremendous response at Hanumanthawaka junction. All roads at Jagadamba junction were choked with people much before the arrival of NTR Junior. TDP workers and youth went into a frenzy as the convoy inched its way through the crowd
Laxmi Paravati Asked Rs 5 cr for PRP symbol?

After realising that he was fighting a losing battle with the Election Commission, Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi withdrew his petition in the Supreme Court and the High Court seeking common symbol and is desperately trying for contesting on other party symbols.
According to inside information, every party which Chiru approached demanded huge amounts for allotting its symbol, apart from a few seats for its own candidates. For instance, Janata Dal (U) president Sharad Yadav is learnt to have demanded Rs 20 crore and five Lok Sabha seats.
Back home, NTR-Telugu Desam party president Lakshmi Parvathi also is learnt to have demanded Rs 5 crore from Chiranjeevi for giving her party’s lion symbol for PRP, apart from a Lok Sabha ticket to her.
This was not acceptable to Chiru. Finally, the deal was reportedly struck with lesser known party Sikkim Democratic Front for Rs 2 crore for borrowing its “umbrella” symbol!

Krishnam Raju to join in PRP?

It may be recalled that since a long time that the Rebel Star Krishnam Raju who is in BJP will join the congress party. However the BJP party leaders are trying to prevent the shift.
When the situation is like this rumors are going on that the actor Krishnam Raju and Gokaraju Ramaraju alias Ramam the ex member of TTD and who aspired for the congress ticket from Bhimavaram will join Prajarajyam party. It is also learnt that the issue was finalized and they would join Prajarajyam Party on 21 March in Prajaranabheri going to be held.
Repeat history, NTR tells people

VIZIANAGARAM: People have been asked to put the Congress on the mat to end corruption at every level. Star campaigner for Telugu Desam N.T. Rama Rao junior, during his brief speeches at Jinnam, Gadasam, Porali and Garbham villages in Gajapathinagaram and Cheepurupalli constituencies on Monday, called upon people to recall the days in 1982-83 when they rallied behind his grandfather N.T. Rama Rao and appealed to them to repeat history.
People, who waited for him patiently in the hot sun, cheered lustily whenever he talked about late NTR and his pet schemes of Rs.2-a-kg rice and janata dhoti and sari that were meant to provide them two square meals a day and alleviate the sufferings of the poor.
He said the social justice that some parties had been promising now was adopted during late NTR rule.
First Trisha, now Bhoomika

Ever since the Election Commission announced the dates for the LS polls, the entire nation has been affected by election fever. News about party alignment and party leaders seem to occupy the centre stage all over. As cinema and politics always go hand in hand, speculations about which actor patronizing which party seems to be in the news everyday. And Andhra Pradesh is no exception, where there is a huge fan following for actor-turned- politicians.
Recently, there were reports of Roja Kootam-fame Bhoomika joining the Telugu Desam Party. However, when the matter was probed, the actress vehemently denied the news and said, “I have not joined any political party. I am interested in social work, which prompted me to inaugurate a blood bank belonging to the Telugu Desam. That apart, I have no interest in politics.” Readers may recall that a couple of days back, Trisha was also said to have joined the Congress in Andhra Pradesh, which the actress denied.
NTR, Chiru movies on TV angers Rosaiah

March 16: The Congress on Monday demanded that the Election Commission should immediately ban screening of films of all those actors who are actively involved in politics in theatres.
In what is seen as a sharp reaction to the EC’s decision to cover faces of Rajiv Gandhi on 108 ambulances, the Congress came out with a demand to stop telecast of the movies starring Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Jr NTR, Pavan Kalyan and Allu Arjun on private channels.
The ruling party also went on an offensive against the EC which the former accused of showing partisan attitude towards Opposition parties. The finance minister and senior Congress leader, Mr K, Rosaiah, met the Chief Electoral Officer, Dr I.V. Subba Rao, and registered a strong protest against the EC’s decision to cover the face of Rajiv Gandhi on 108 ambulances.
He threatened to approach the court against the order.
“The EC is prompt in reacting to complaints of the Opposition parties but remains a mute spectator when they violate the code,” Mr Rosaiah said while referring to the EC keeping quiet on telecast of films of actors who are actively campaigning for political parties.
“Though there were orders prohibiting telecast of movies of actors who are involved in politics on Doordarshan, the private channels are not covered by these restrictions. If the face of a leader on a speeding vehicle could leave an impression among voters what will be the impact of screening or telecast full length films? They have more potential to influence the minds of voters with their heroic deeds on screen,” Mr Rosaiah said.
The Congress alleged that some private channels had been repeatedly telecasting movies and timing them before public meetings with a sole objective of mobilising crowds to the events.
NTR-KTR boost to G Alliance campaign

HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) general secretary KT Rama Rao and Telugu Desam Party key campaigner and actor Junior NTR have become good friends and both are likely share the dais during electioneering in the Telangana region shortly.
Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR, is the son of party president K Chandrasekhar Rao. A regular in discussions on the Telangana issue on various fora, including Telugu TV channels, his comments have won the heart of Junior NTR and made him get in touch with the former. It prompted him to say that there’s some power in the name of Taraka Rama Rao. Both have become good friends now and are in regular touch.
Before kicking off his election campaign from Srikakulam, Junior NTR spoke to KTR and had even taken some tips on delivering speeches during road shows. Soon after his first address, the Nandamuri scion is learnt to have enquired about the public response to his speeches.
In this backdrop, the TRS leadership has already decided to requisition the services of Junior NTR for electioneering on behalf of the Grand Alliance candidates in the Telangana region.
The TRS leadership is of the opinion that Junior NTR has succeeded in neutralising to some extent the Chiranjeevi edge enjoyed by the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP). In the coming days, the image and standing of the Grand Alliance will further improve across the State, it feels.
Reacting to the response to NTR Jr’s electioneering, KTR says every actor attracts the masses, but only a few can impress them with their message.
Junior NTR has succeeded in doing that. “I will be campaigning with NTR in the Telangana region shortly,” he adds.
Jr NTR Rocks

Success seems to be written large on this very versatile and talented actor, right from the day NTR has started his road shows he has been making grand speeches and they are being lapped up by the general public with a never before fervor. The actor is rocking to an extent that even YSR and Chiru are revaluating their poll plans, many analysts say that if NTR goes the way he has been going then he would make the voters swing in TDP’s way ultimately leading to the TDPs win.
Comparisons between the young scion and Balakrishna have also started and many say that he is a bigger pull than Balakrishna for the TDP, many say that Chiru also is fading off in comparison to the young NTR.
All said and done NTR is emerging as a winner for TDP and a threat for the Congress and the PRP. Indeed a star in many ways is NTR!!
