Chiranjeevi flying to America to relax

chiru612388404741
The Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi, who braved the summer sun to sweat it out in the campaign trail, is planning to take a trip to the United States to get away from it all.

“The megastar, who has been on a whirlwind tour of the state to ensure his fledgling party’s victory in the polls, is desperately seeking a break,” said a source in the Praja Rajyam. It is learnt that Chiranjeevi has been invited for a holiday in the US by his close friend, Mr Kumar, an NRI business tycoon there.

The PR chief may fly to the US at the end of this month or in the first week of May. “His tour schedule is not yet finalised,” said an aide of the megastar. “It will be decided in a few days. He needs a break to rejuvenate himself as it is first time that he has taken such extensive tours across the state.”

Chiranjeevi’s actor brothers, Nagendra Babu and Pavan Kalyan, are also planning to stay aloof from politics for the time being and relax for a while with their families. Since polls are over, both the brothers will now get back to their films.

“I will resume my film shootings now,” said Pavan Kalyan. “Shooting for the movie Komaram Puli was stopped abruptly as I got busy with poll campaign all these days.”

Other senior Praja Rajyam leaders such as Mr T. Devender Goud, Mr T. Sitaram and Mr Bhuma Nagi Reddy are also planning to go on holidays with their families.

Mr Goud is planning to visit Australia and New Zealand along with his family to relax for a week. “I am tired because of the continuous campaign,” said Mr Goud. “So I am planning a foreign tour.”

The leader couple of the party, Mr Bhuma Nagi Reddy and Ms Sobha Nagi Reddy, have also decided to fly abroad with their children.

Over to Chiru in Andhra Pradesh?

16sld2
Telugu actor Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party— launched only a few months before the elections were announced— may well go on to

decide who will form the next government in AndhraPradesh.

The turnout was a high 68% in the second and final phase of elections held in 20 Lok Sabha and 140 assembly seats, following up on a similar performance in the first phase.

There were also talks about cross-voting — same person voting for different parties for the Lok Sabha and assembly elections. Many believe this will give Congress more seats in the Lok Sabha and lesser in the assembly. “It’s quite possible that now Chiranjeevi will decide who will become chief minister. But let us not take this as final and wait for the results,” said a Congress leader.

Praja Rajyam is likely to cut into the votes of Congress in a majority of constituencies. What seemed to have worked in favour of the newly created party was the ruckus created by Congress supporters on poll-eve in a five-star hotel in Tirupati where Chiranjeevi was staying with his family.

Congress activists alleged that Chiranjeevi had kept loads of money in the hotel to lure voters. “The incident portrayed Chiru as a victim and gained him sympathy,” said the Congress leader.

Congress and the N Chandrababu Naidu-led Grand Alliance are brimming with confidence about their chances in the second round, all the same.

Some political observers even warned of a surprise — the state may be headed for a hung assembly, something never seen before in this part of the world. The first phase of elections was held for 22 Lok Sabha and 154 assembly seats.

On Thursday, voters braved the scorching summer heat — in some places the temperature was over 44 degrees Celsius — to reach polling booths.

There were stray incidents of violence. A Congress worker was killed in clashes with Telugu Desam Party workers in Addanki assembly constituency in Prakasam district. Congress and TDP activists clashed in Kadapa and Chittoor districts.

Repolling was ordered in 24 polling booths in Kadapa, Anantapur, Ongole and Prakasam after miscreants damaged several electronic voting machines.

TDP, PRP lead in Krishna district

cbn-chiru
With the second phase of poll date nearing, TDP’s smile is beginning to widen what with indications that the party could easily bag

eight out of 14 assembly constituencies in Krishna district where it received a drubbing in the last elections. The PRP is also on a leatherhunt by giving Congress a run for its money.

Both ministers in the YSR cabinet – Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao (Gudivada) and Mandali Budhaprasad (Avanigadda) – are far behind PRP candidates Ravi Venkateswara Rao and Simhadri Ramesh. “The ministers could be fighting for the second or third slots,” an analyst said.

The other minister Koneru Ranga Rao, who took voluntary retirement from politics, was left as a mute spectator even as TDP had made huge inroads in his home constituency of Tiruvur. Congress nominees – D Padma Jyothy, Parameswara Rao and D Y Das from Tiruvur, Nandigama and Pamarru respectively – are lagging behind their TDP opponents due to severe infighting among the Congress leaders.

Sources said the winning chances of TDP candidates in SC constituencies are bright, while local MP Lagadapati Rajagopal was exposed for not picking up the momentum in some of the assembly seats.

Senior PRP leader Buragadda Vedavyas, however, is finding the going tough at Machilipatnam where no local leader is backing him. Both Vedavyas and Congress candidate Perni Venkateswara Rao alias Nani are laying focus on Kapu voters, while TDP candidate Kollu Ravindra, a fisherman, is banking on his community people’s support.

Sources said Congress candidates Devineni Nehru (Vijayawada East), M V P Apparao (Nuziveedu), K P Saradhi (Penamalur), S Udayabhanu (Jaggaiahpet) are going strong where as Buddhaprasad (Avanigadda), Jogi Ramesh (Pedana), Perni Nani (Machilipatnam), Malladi Vishnu (Central) and Padma Jyothi (Tiruvur) are up against some serious challenge from both TDP and PRP nominees.

However, Prajarajyam’s Vangaveeti Radhakrishna in Central and Srinivas in West segment are looking confident and have fair chances of snatching the seats from their rivals. “The contest is very strong in six assembly segments where the Congress and TDP could share the honours,” a political observer from Tenali said.

“Anushka Is Better Than Chiranjeevi”

arundathi11240195043

The hot beauty Anushka is one girl who has been getting very famous, more than megastar Chiranjeevi himself. It is heard that recently, the famous director Kodi Ramakrishna was sharing his thoughts with a group of his close friends and he was talking about his movies.

Kodi is said to have mentioned that when he made ‘Anji’ with Chiranjeevi, the expectations were very high but the movie bombed miserably at the box office. On the other hand, when he made ‘Arundhati’ with Anushka, he was not that over confident and the result turned to be overwhelming.

Grapevine says that Kodi was saying stardom is just an eye wash and what really matters is presence and performance. That way he was said to be giving good scores to Anushka than Chiru himself. With a director of that caliber giving such ratings, it is indeed something to think of.

Congress, TDP ignored farmers, says Chiranjeevi

chiru-west-godavari
inept attitude of the present Congress rule and the previous Telugu Desam Party rule resulted in thousands of farmers committing suicides, Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi alleged on Saturday.

He formed Praja Rajyam to provide good governance and end the misrule of Congress and keep the hi-tech TDP rule at bay, Mr. Chiranjeevi alleged in public meetings at Badvel, Kadapa and Rayachoti.

The TDP government ignored the plight of the common man and laid stress on promoting hi-tech policies in urban areas, he alleged.

Mr. Chiranjeevi called upon the people to reject Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s dubious promises to benefit all sections of people.

The Congress government was steeped in corruption and ‘jalayagnam’ became a money-spinner for then party leaders, he alleged. Vexed with Congress rule, electorate gave an adverse verdict in the first phase and hence Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was exhibiting his intolerance. He asked why nearly 7,000 farmers ended their lives in the Congress government which claimed to be pro-farmer. He appealed to people to reject both Congress and the TDP.

Praja Rajyam was committed to the welfare of the downtrodden, weaker and poorer sections of people. It gave 104 Assembly seats to BCs, six to Muslim minorities and fielded SC/STs in eight general seats.

Mr. Chiranjeevi promised supply of an LPG refill at Rs. 100, ‘Pasupu, kumkuma’ scheme for women, monthly allowance of Rs. 1,000 to each unemployed person and to generate employment to 10 lakh persons in the first 1,000 days, if he regained power.

He assured to safeguard the rights of minorities and protect Wakf properties. Promising due recognition to Urdu, he said courses such as computer science and mathematics would be introduced in madrasas. Stating that people favoured a
Creating hype

Nellore Staff Reporter adds: Praja Rajyam president K.Chiranjeevi has said that Telugu Desam Party supremo N.Chandrababu was creating hype among the public over the prospects of ‘Maha Kootami’ in the just concluded Assembly elections in Telangana districts.

Speaking to the newsmen here on Saturday, he said Mr. Naidu is creating a psychological feeling among the public that the people voted for the ‘kootami’ and will have edge in Telangana districts.

But, Praja Rajyam gave tough fight for Congress and ‘Maha Kootami’ in the elections and wind is blowing in favour of the party in coastal districts, he said.

Stating that the response from the public for the road shows is overwhelming, the PR chief said the party will win with a comfortable majority and opined that there will not be hung in the State. Reacting to the comments of Chief Minister Y.S.Rajashekara Reddy on separate Telangana, Mr.Chiranjeevi said that Mr.Reddy was deceiving the public with different statements on separate statehood.

The Praja Rajyam president said the party will continue the construction of irrigation projects and the welfare schemes introduced by Congress party, if voted to power, in the State.

PRP Chief Chiranjeevi’s Voice In Mobile Phones

prajarajyam08

Don’t be surprised if you hear the voice of megastar Chiranjeevi on your mobile but at the same time, don’t start responding to him thinking he is on the other line. This is part of the megastar’s canvassing process as part of the elections that is causing a surprise and also some confusion.

It is said that a voice message is being sent to many mobile users so when they take a call, it is Chiru greeting and saying’ hello, this is your Chiranjeevi speaking, please vote for PRP blah blah..’. At the onset, many are thinking that it is a live call and are reacting to Chiru’s voice only to realize it is not so.

On the other hand, there are those who are expressing annoyance since they would be in the middle of something important and attend to the call thinking it is important only to hear the voice of Chiru and his typical accent urging one and all to vote for his party. It remains to be seen if his ‘voice’ will bring any ‘Marpu’ or not.

‘Praja Rillu Yatra’ Train Robbery in PRP!

chiru-prjarail11_11

There is no place in the earth where robbers cannot use their skills to loot people. And Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi’s train yatra is also no exception.

As the train was passing through Ongole, some thieves stolen Rs 1 lakh cash, 22 mobile phones and even gold ornaments from the fans of Chiranjeevi and PRP activists within the train. How and when it happened, nobody knows. Such was the skill of the train robbers. The Singarayakonda police registered a case.

Hope, Chiru or Aravind will use this episode in any of the films in future.
