Chenna Krishnaiah withdraw “Prajarajyam” application

Hyderabad, In a major relief for Megastar Chiranjeevi, the row over his newly-launched party’s name ‘Praja Rajyam’ was resolved Friday after the advocate who had staked claim to the name agreed to withdraw his application.

Chenna Krishnaiah, an advocate of Kadpa district, met the Election Commission of India officials in New Delhi and agreed to withdraw his application for registration of ‘Praja Rajyam’ made a month ago.

Chiranjeevi’s aides reportedly succeeded in convincing Krishnaiah to withdraw his application and in return promised a key post in the party, sources said here.

Chiranjeevi Tuesday launched his political party ‘Praja Rajyam’ at a mammoth rally at the temple town of Tirupati. However, his close aides and supporters had to face embarrassment when Krishnaiah claimed Thursday that he had already applied to the Election Commission for registration of a party with the same name.

The actor’s camp swung into action to convince Krishnaiah, who had applied for registration in July and was given a month’s time by the Election Commission to complete the formalities.

Chiranjeevi’s aide Vinay Kumar rushed to Delhi to fulfil the legal formalities for the registration after it was pointed out that their application was riddled with errors and had only 88 signatures instead of the mandatory 100.

Vinay Kumar and two other leaders of Chiranjeevi’s party from Kadpa district met Krishaniah in Delhi and they together called on Election Commission officials. It was during this meeting that Krishnaiah is understood to have withdrawn his application.

Party spokesman P. Mitra told newsmen that it had applied for registration and fulfilled the criteria. ‘Our legal department is looking into the issue. We are confident the Election Commission will accept our application,’ he said.

A day before Chiranjeevi’s meeting at Tirupati, Krishnaiah announced that he has registered a party by the name ‘Praja Rajyam’ with the Election Commission in New Delhi on June 14 this year.

Krishnaiah, an advocate from Lakkireddypalli town in Kadapa district and a member of the washermen community, said that he was launching the party to help the downtrodden. His party planned to contest all the Lok Sabha and assembly seats in Kadapa district.

As news of Krishnaiah claiming registration of ‘Praja Rajyam’ spread, Chiranjeevi’s fans mounted pressure on him to withdraw his application to ensure a smooth political debut for the actor.

People Welcomes Chiru if follows NTR Footsteps

Union Minister of State for Human Resources Daggubati Purandareswari said that the people will welcome film star Chiranjeevi if he follows the footsteps of late NTR in championing the cause of the poor and oppressed.

Speaking to reporters in Guntur on Wednesday, she said that though Chiranjeevi had launched the party, he was yet to clearly spell out his stand on various issues. Brushing off speculation that the politician-turned-actor Chiranjeevi might do an NTR in capturing power, she said that every one has his own style.

the Congress-led State Government had been implementing the pro-poor policies which were once the brainchild of her father NTR.

However, she said that the Y S Rajasekhra Reddy government in the state has been implementing Indiramma housing, Rajiv Arogyasri and Rs.2-a-kg rice, which have been conceptualised by her father. She alleged that the TDP in its nine-year rule dumped the programmes.

Congress Conspiracy On Chiru With Power Cut

This might sound a bit funny but then it has happened, call it the regular defects of our daily systems or a master mind plan of the ruling system, we leave the choice to your wise instincts after reading this story.

It was known news that the debut political meeting of Megastar Chiranjeevi was scheduled for 4 pm in the evening and just when many of the people were gearing up for the live show in the TV channel, the power went off and it was not the regular power cut or anything but a power failure.

Surprisingly, this happened in some of the prime areas in the city where power cut is a rare thing so this began a speculation amongst the residents stating whether YS had arranged for a special black out during the Chiru meeting. Thanks to the news channels who would repeat the whole story for the next 24 hours so one never really misses out on anything.

Chiranjeevi supports Telangana?

Megastar Chiranjeevi indirectly hinted that he is favouring formation of separate Telangana.

Though he said it is a sensitive issue and a decision should be taken after deep discussions with intellectuals, he made it clear that he would go by the people’s aspirations. “We need to respect people’s sentiments and feeling of self-respect. If division is inevitable, my party will accept it and wants that it is done in an amicable manner,” he said.

Megastar To Quit Alcohol For Ever

Film stars and alcohol have a close connection and it is without doubt that there are many who resort to the drinks to ease their stress out. However, there have been those who have stayed miles away from it and this held good for those who have shifted their paths from cine field to politics.

The legendary NTR was known to be a teetotaler and has never touched the glass his entire life, later when Chandrababu Naidu came in he is known to have taken a little but after becoming CM, even he bid adieu to it be it for health or whatever reasons.

Now, it is a known fact that Megastar Chiranjeevi has a round or two of his famous drinks and the news that he consumes liquor was a big headline during the previous ATA celebrations. But now it is being said that he has decided to stay away from this vice and one hopes that he leads the people of the state away from it since they seem to be fully drowsed in intoxication of alcohol. Chiranjeevi said that he is willing to implement ‘prohibition’ in the state if he comes to power considering the worry of women folks. Chiru seems to be following ‘Gandhi Siddantham’- ‘practice first, before making people follow your word’.

On the other hand KCR also never pointed about ‘Madya Paana Nishedham’. Everybody knows that KCR is a regular boozer. As people know something about the personal lives of these leaders, they are keener when they talk about prohibition of liquor. We have to see how Chiru manages to match his personal life to professional promises.

Some opposition party members are saying that Chiranjeevi may prohibit only local brands and Gudumba but not foreign liquor as he is the regular consumer of international brands.

Has Babu dropped some moles in Chiru party?

re a lot of secretes of Chiru party already passed to Babu through them even before his own party people know of them?

The SAKHSI dropped a hint at this in its Saturday’ banner item.

Without mentioning names it pointed finger at N.K.Prasad who till recently hobnobbed with Naidu very closely and moved into Chiru last month, Vanga Geetha TDP former M.P (Rajyasabha) and Ramachandraiah who has been looking TDP finances since it formation.

Internal problems for Chiru

Majority of Chiranjeevi’s fans are reportedly reluctant to rally behind new leaders as they claim that they are being neglected by them. A news has it that a lot of fans and fan association leaders are seeking larger role in Chiru party affairs but the newly joined politicos in different districts are not caring much for them and according greater role i.e. arranging buses, mobilizing masses etc to their followers, angered, naturally, over this unfriendly attitude of the newly joined political leaders a lot of fan clubs already complained to Chiru party inner circle and warned if much importance is not given in the party affairs they would not support the candidature some leaders particularly K. Rosaiah, the son-in-law of the TDP leader, U. Venkateshwarlu.Nalgonda leader B. VenkannaGoud and J. Sudhaker Rao, who reportedly claims to be a relative of actor Allu Aravind.in the elections.

In a tete a tete with media in his native Nellore on Friday Dr.Mithra acknowledged the differences and said party will iron out such problems in a short span.

Tirupati, Aug 26 (IANS) Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi Tuesday launched his long-awaited political party (People’s Rule) and vowed to bring a change in Andhra Pradesh’s politics as he took the temple town of Tirupati by storm with a mega rally attended by some one million frenzied supporters.

‘It will be a democratic and secular party. It will be a people’s party, born from the hearts of the people. It will be a party for backward classes, farmers, workers, women and youth,’ he said amid wild cheering from a mainly male gathering drawn from all over Andhra Pradesh.

‘The party will work for development, modernisation and industrial revolution. Its goal will be ‘santosh’ and ‘ananda’ (contentment and happiness) Andhra Pradesh,’ he said, speaking in Telugu.

‘I know your problems, pains and sufferings and will always stand by you,’ he said, while taking the oath in the name of Lord Venkateshwara to dedicate his life to serve the people.

Broadly outlining the policies of his eagerly awaited party, he said that eliminating poverty, ensuring social equality, rooting out corruption, development of villages on par with urban areas, and providing health and education to all would top the agenda.

During the two-hour mega show, the 53-year-old actor said he favoured prohibition but added that his party would take a final decision only after detailed deliberations.

He termed as ‘social’ the problem of Maoist violence and promised to respect the sentiments for a separate statehood for the Telangana region.

‘After spending 30 years in the glamorous field, I could have lived a life for myself. I have all the comforts in life but I decided to be in your midst by responding to your appeal,’ said Chiranjeevi, who announced his decision to join politics Aug 17.

‘I am overwhelmed by your support all these years. Now it is time for me to pay back and be in your midst to share your sufferings,’ said Churu, as he is fondly called, amid thunderous applause.

Chiru, who declared that he had no rivals in politics, took a swipe at the ruling Congress for selling government land to industries and for acquiring cultivable land for Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

‘We have no rivals. Problems are our rivals. We have no rivals because we have no fear and greed. We have entered the battlefield but our battle is against problems. Courage and honesty are our two weapons. We have no leader. All are soldiers. I am also one among you,’ he said.
