At last, major travel operator Kesineni Nani on Monday resigned from Praja Rajyam Party, even before he was expelled from the party for his letter to party president Chiranjeevi, making pungent comments.
The first thing Nani did after resigning was to go to TV channels to participate in live shows, where he made much stronger remarks against Chiranjeevi. “He is a great actor, not only in films, but also in real life. He knows everything about what was going on PRP in Vijayawada. Yet, he remained silent, only to protect the interests of his own community people,” Nani alleged.
Nani’s exist will repolarise voters in Krishna district. As expected, he may join the Telugu Desam party and with him, a section of Kamma community might tilt towards TD. This will not help Chiranjeevi and he has to focus on how to keep his flock together in the coastal Andhra, because Nani resignation might have spill-over effect in neighbouring districts, too.
Making it clear that Praja Rajyam party was for a separate Telangana state the party leaders declared that Telangana state issue was part of the party manifesto, soon to be released. Further PRP leaders stated that the party and its members would support every move and action for the formation of a separate Telangana State.
Praja Rajyam party president Chiranjeevi will tour Chittoor district from January 22 to 25 as per the press note released on Tuesday by district convener Jangalapalli Srinivasulu. He will cover 33 places in Chittoor district during his tour starting his tour from Kuppam, the constituency represented by the former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and cover Shantipuram Rajupeta Cross, Ramakuppam, V-Kota, Baireddypalli, Palamaner and make night halt at Pugur. On Friday he will tour Kallupalli, Rayalpeta, Punganur were he will unveil the statue of Jyothirao Phule. Then he will visit Ramasamudram, Madanapalli, Valmikipuram. On Saturday he will cover Chinthaparthi, Kalikiri, Kanduru, Somala, Sadum, Kalluru, Damalcheruvu, Paturu and Puthalpattu. Hee will visit Chittoor, Gangadhar Nellore, Kothapallimitta, S.R.Puram, Pallipattu Junction, Karvetnagar, Puttur, Nagiri on January 25 and he will leave for Chennai. In all these places he will address the public.
Yuvarajyam chief Pavankalyan met with an electric shock when he was waving to a huge gathering of people at one of his public meeting at Hunnabad in karimnagar.
Pavan kalyan was on tour in Karimnagar, and was waving to the audience at Hunnabad public meeting when his hand came into contact with a dangling electric wire.
Pavan kalyan was immediately given first aid by doctros in an ambulance which was part of his convoy, and he recovered after sometime.
People at the gathering and all over andhra pradesh expressed great relief on seeing him back and safe.

Speaking at one of the public gatherings pavan Kalyan stated that for nearly 20 years people have remained silent to the atrocities of corrupt governments and have let corruption breed. He urged the people that it was right time to act, and be more socially responsible, he requested the people to teach a lesson to the corrupt government and asked them to vote for praja Rajyam party.
Pavan kalyan reminded people that it was right time they made a choice, and the choice was between corrupt goonda raj of other political parties or the praja Rajyam.
KODIMIAL (KARIMNAGAR DT): Yuva Rajyam president Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday called upon people in general and youth in particular to revolt against the “corrupt” Congress Government and form people’s government by electing Praja Rajyam to power. He launched his four-day yatra in Karimnagar district by offering prayers to Lord Hanuman at Sri Anjaneya Swamy devasthanam in Kondagattu temple in Mallial mandal in the afternoon. He participated in the breaking of about 1,116 coconuts as an offering to the presiding deity at the temple. Addressing a mammoth gathering at the Kodimial mandal headquarters, Mr. Pawan alleged that the Congress Government was snatching away everything available from the people.
“For last six decades, politicians have been literally harassing the people by not taking up any developmental programmes. The politicians are concerned about their own development so that their families can live happily for decades,” he alleged.
Yuva Rajyam president Pavan Kalyan is of the view that the tremendous success of his brother Chiranjeevi’s public meetings is creating jitters in other political parties, particularly, the Telugu Desam.
Referring to TD leaders’ criticism that PRP is like a bubble ready to burst, Pavan Kalyan said such comments itself indicate that the TD is in a panicky mood. “If PRP is a bubble, there is no need for TD to talk about it at all. The very fact that they are making comments on us shows how much worried they are about growing popularity of PRP,” he said.
He refutied the criticism that PRP was dominated by only Chiranjeevi’s family members. “Don’t worry. I am not going to contest polls, but will work as an ordinary soldier,” he said.
Drawing a parallel between the legendary Telugu film actor, N.T. Rama Rao and himself, the Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi on Monday claimed that he had more clout among the people than NTR.
Even though the PR failed to create departments in the party’s state committee due to non-availability of suitable leaders, Chiranjeevi claimed that he broke NTR’s record in constituting party committees.
“NTR set up party committees only after he came to power. We have done it before the elections. Leaders in our party are vying with each other for party posts as they are enthusiastic to serve the people. It indicates that the PR has more clout among the people,” Chiranjeevi said while addressing the PR district committees’ convention at the Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad on Monday. Chiranjeevi asked his cadre to constitute booth level committees and village level committees as it is crucial to transform public response into votes in the ensuing elections.
However, the PR chief failed to clarify queries posed by party leaders on how the PR will bring about change and how it will be different from other parties. He also did not clarify how the PR will uplfit the downtrodden.
Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi on Monday exhorted party leaders to galvanise cadres and get them ready for the elections.
He addressing members of various committees from seven districts Krishna, Kurnool, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Nellore, Nizamabad and East Godavari at a day-long motivation workshop organised for them at Shilpa Kala Vedika here.
He wanted the party leaders to go to the grassroots and educate people about the party’s agenda of ‘change and social justice’. “Get to work as if the polls are tomorrow or the day after. Do not wait for instructions from the leadership. You are aware of people’s problems and the solutions PRP is offering for their alleviation,” he said.
Referring to criticism from other parties that the PR had no concrete programmes, he said, “Who are they to ask me? A hungry man first needs food and I have plans to do just that. Then I will get work on agriculture, power and welfare. We have brains working on these sectors and chalking out plans. I promise that every programme of the Praja Rajyam will be to help the poor.”
Mr. Chiranjeevi asked party leaders not to be disturbed by criticism from political opponents. In just seven months, the PR was able to gain the trust of the people, so much so, other parties were getting jittery. “Praja Rajyam is surely an alternative in the State,” he said.
Enrolment sought
Pawan Kalyan, president, Yuva Rajyam, has sought enrolment of an estimated 29 lakh youth as voters to ensure their participation in the election process and offered his party’s services to do this job at college and university level. I. V . Subba Rao, Chief Electoral Officer, to whom Mr. Pawan submitted a memorandum on Monday, responded by promising to enlist maximum number of youths under the special drive ‘Young Tarang’ that began in the State but was disinclined to take assistance from any party.
Mr. Pawan proposed that the Election Commission should reward heads of educational institutions, including universities, with awards for enrolling large number of students.
Speaking to reporters later, Mr. Pawan said PR had already stated that it would introduce a bill in the Assembly for formation of Telangana if it was voted to power. He said he would not contest Assembly/Parliament elections and continue to work as party activist. On the description of PR as a “bubble” by TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said “he might have remarked so out of fear of PR”.
Pavan Kalyan would start his tour of Karimnagar district from Tuesday, he would be touring Karimnagar for four days and the places have been chosen to avoid coincidence with those already visited by Chiranjeevi. Pavan Kalyan’s tour will markl his official beginning of campaigning for Praja Rajyam Party, the tour will include public meetings, rallies, and also road shows.
Pavan Kalyan President of Yuva Rajyam on Sunday asked party members to go all out and make the drive to help enroll college students as voters, a success. ‘Yuvarajyam’ Chief Pavan Kalyan has called on youth to show their power in the ensuing elections, he stated that youth has got lot to do to this society as well to the country. Every youth must utilize his vote right and cleanse out this spoilt politics from society. Until youth would have direct participation in politics society is not going to change. To have change youth need not participate in strikes, if they can use their vote right and elect a right leader then surely change is going to happen was stated by Pavan Kalyan.
Allu Aravind, Praja Rajyam general secretary, told a gathering of State and district committee members that with elections not far away, their focus was to enroll as many voters as they could of the approximately 36 lakh students aged over 18 in the State.
Aravind said a special effort was required to bring in youth and make them participate in the electoral process.
Yuva Rajyam president Pawan Kalyan dwelt at length on why the party needed to motivate youth to enroll as voters and use their ballot as the weapon. He explained how by voting they could register their protest at uncaring governments/political parties, thus teaching them a lesson.
“There is no need for youth to be disillusioned. Neither is there any need for them to resign themselves to the feeling that they had to continue suffering injustice at the hands of unscrupulous leaders belonging to political parties with vested interest. They need to convey their feelings by exercising their franchise,” he said.
