Chandra Babu Naidu continues to spit venom on PRP

3

Looks like Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has not lost his grudge against Praja Rajyam Party led by Chiranjeevi, for causing the defeat of the TDP in the recent elections.

Addressing a large number of PRP students who joined the TDP, Naidu did not hide his anger against the PRP. “Just before the elections, a new party entered the state politics, without any aim or objective. It has completely spoiled the good work done by the TDP in creating an anti-establishment feeling among the people. Rather than coming to power, this new party completely played a spoilsport with the TDP chances, by causing a split in the anti-establishment votes. As a result, the Congress could come back to power again,” he said.

The TDP president called upon the students to launch an agitation against the corrupt practices of the Congress government. “It is time all the students take up cudgels against corruption and irregularities in the administration,” he said.

Wisdom has at last dawned upon Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi. He now wants do what he should have done nine months ago.

Chiranjeevi, who held a meeting with party seniors on Sunday, decided that he would tour all parts of the state immediately after the completion of the first assembly session. “This time, it is not going to be like any other road show to appeal to voters. People have already given their verdict and therefore, there would no criticism of the ruling party or the leaders. This tour is entirely meant to take the party into the people. Chiranjeevi would identify himself with the people, their problems and their feelings. In a way, it is going to be a mass contact programme,” PRP leaders said.

Well, it is good that Chiranjeevi has learnt a lesson. Be with the people; they will be with you when you need them.

Chiru challenge to Ysr

chiranjeevi_ysr

Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi has a double face: one innocent and other ugly.

This was stated by former Mahila Rajyam leader P Sarojini Devi, mother of film actress Pratyusha, who died in the most suspicious circumstances a few years ago. She quit the PRP just before polls, after she was denied the ticket.

Sarojini said the PRP was like a fake company, which collected money from the gullible people and cheated them later. The PRP leaders made hundreds of crores of rupees cashing in on the name and image of Chiranjeevi. “He is a doubled-faced character. He talks sweetly, but cheats the people, especially womenfolk,” she said.

She claimed that party general secretary Allu Arvind had convinced her to talk to the mothers of Swapnika and Ayesha which she did. “But after that I was badly cheated by the party,’’ she alleged.

Chiru Challenge to continue in politics

Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi said he would continue in politics and serve the people till his last breath.

He said he would strive to make the party a “political force” to reckon with in the coming days.

He ruled out going back to Tollywood and acting in films.

The PR chief added he was not disheartened by the dismal performance of his party.

Talking to this newspaper on Tuesday at the PR headquarters in Hyderabad, Chiranjeevi said: “As a film actor I was discouraged by many in Tollywood in the early days of my film career. By working hard I became a star. In the same way I will strive to make the PR a king in politics.’’

The actor-turned-politician refused to blame anybody for the party’s debacle and owned up responsibility for the defeat in the elections.

He indicated that the delay in selection of candidates and communication gap among the cadre had resulted in the party’s poor performance.

“Apart from this the vicious campaign taken up by my rivals that the party tickets were sold also affected the poll prospects of our party,” he maintained.

“These elections showed the enormous support that the PR enjoyed. We succeeded in gaining the faith of 18 per cent of the voters across the state. As many as 80 lakh people voted for the PR. It is a great achievement for a fledgling party like the PR which is hardly nine months old and which took on big parties like the Congress and the Telugu Desam,” the PR chief observed.

Chiru will campaign for Jayapradha

Prajarajyam party chief Chiranjeevi is now busy with the election campaigning for his party in the state. The Samajwadi Party is keen to have some sort of a tie-up with the PRP. Sanjay Dutt has announced that he will campaign for the PRP in the state.

Chiranjeevi is expected to reciprocate this gesture. He has been invited by the SP leader Amar Singh to campaign for the party in UP. Chiranjeevi will campaign for his former heroine Jaya Prada. The beautiful actress is now contesting for the Lok Sabha from Rampur in UP.

Poll pundits are predicting a fall in PR fortunes

Chiru-led Praja Rajyam which boasted to be different from main political parties seems to be losing its sheen with many senior leaders either quitting or going into a shell, apparently dissatisfied over distribution of tickets and their ‘purchase’. It is no surprise that poll pundits are predicting a fall in PR fortunes at the hustings.

Chiru flays Congress, TRS on Telangana issue

Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi on Wednesday alleged that both the Congress and the TRS are using the Telangana card for political gain instead of addressing the issue.

“Had they been serious why the issue was not addressed in the past four or five years. How long they want to cheat the people?” he asked while addressing a series of public meetings in Medak district on Wednesday.

At Patancheru, Mr. Chiranjeevi said that even the AICC president Sonia Gandhi tried to get the votes in the name of Telangana once again at her public meeting held on Tuesday.

“Praja Rajyam is for Telangana and I have not broken the promises like they did,” he said .
