Though elections are over, megastar Chiranjeevi has got lots of challenges ahead. This time, it could be from his fans only. Incidentally, during the election time, there was also a buzz that many of Chiru’s fans were seeing holding opposition party flags and this happened in Tirupati and Palakollu alike.

Now, the time has come when the Chiru fans will be seen during the arrival of the film ‘Magadheera’ and they might want to tie the banners. However given their political differences, it could spark new tensions between themselves so this will be another challenge for Chiru.

Many are predicting this and it has to be seen how tranquility will be maintained among Chiru fans now.

HYDERABAD: Praja Rajyam has regretted that ‘injustice’ had been done to the State in terms of the poor representation in the Union Council of Ministers and charged Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy with lack of will to pursue the State’s agenda. At a press conference here on Thursday, senior leader T. Sitaram said that although 33 Congress MPs were elected from the State, Dr. Reddy managed to secure only one Cabinet rank Minister and four Ministers of State.

In comparison, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, that sent lesser number of Congress and Trinamool Congress MPs, had bagged many more berths while the NCP could get three. He regretted that the North-South divide still continued despite better performance. Of the 78-strong Union Cabinet, only 26 were from the South, he said.

The announcement of Sabita Indra Reddy as the new Home minister was widely welcomed by everyone. Sabita has scored the distinction of not only becoming the first woman in the state to assume charge as Home Minister but she is also perhaps the first woman in the entire country to hold the distinction.

The Telugu Mahila Chief Roja was very liberal in her praise. She welcomed the appointment of a woman as the Home Minister. Roja also congratulated Sabita and hoped that the atrocities against women in the state will come down during her reign.

The Mahila Rajyam chief Shobha Rani on the other hand ridiculed the appointment of Sabita as the Home Minister. She said that it was a joke!

While Roja’s statement is being widely appreciated, Shobha Rani’s words have not gone down well with the people, even her own party men say that she has put her foot in her mouth with her foolish statement.

PRP Symbol Rail engine Change: Chiranjeevi

chiranjeevi-2

Why did Praja Rajyam Party lose the elections? Well, PRP president Chiranjeevi has the answer.

According to him, most of the voters wanted to vote for the PRP, but they could not locate the rail engine symbol on the Electronic Voting Machine. The symbol was very vague. So, they chose hand, which was clearly visible and identifiable. “This is the major reason. That is the reason why we want to change our election symbol. We are going to file an appeal before the Election Commission seeking the change in symbol,” he said.

Party sources said Chiru has proposed to ask for “umbrella” symbol for the next election, since it can be easily recognised by voters.

Silly excuse, isn’t it. It is nothing but doubting the wisdom of the voters. They clearly look for symbols while voting; and if they really want to vote for the PRP, they don’t find it difficult to locate the rail engine. Even if it is umbrella, people would not vote for the party, unless they want to. It is better Chiru learns this fundamental point.

Dr.YSR Eyes On Jr NTR And Chiranjeevi

jr_chiru1242995913

No one really understood how chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was cool as a cucumber and was beaming with smiles prior to the election while the other parties were scampering about in the summer heat pleading for votes. The result was seen by one and all and his smiles now make sense.

Now, there is news that YS has chalked out a plan and this time he is looking to pull junior NTR into congress. If this happens, then it will become the biggest blow for entire Telugu Desam Party. On the other hand, YS is also said to have got something for the Chiranjeevi camp.

He is said to be working on strategies to dilute PRP up to ‘zero’ by pulling its won MLAs and it must be said that most of the winners have been from other parties earlier. If YS is able to pull this plan successfully then Lagadapati Sridhar’s words of YS meeting Jyoti Basu’s record will become very much a reality.

Chiranjeevi quit angry for Allu Aravind

chiranjeevi-searchandhra

The volcano on which Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi has been sitting for quite sometime exploded on Thursday with several members of the party’s political affairs committee (PAC) indirectly blaming party general secretary Allu Aravind for the debacle in the recent Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
As soon as the PAC met Thursday morning, senior leaders, including Ch Harirama Jogaiah and P Shiv Shankar, reportedly argued that allegations of ‘ticket sales’ to aspirants had done the party in.
Another leader C Ramachandraiah, who lost the Lok Sabha election from Machilipatnam, wanted the party president to disband the PAC, party state committee and all other affiliated committees and reconstitute them with people known for their integrity and honesty.
Allu Aravind, finding himself at the receiving end, expressed his displeasure at being made a scapegoat for the flop show in polls and reportedly handed over his resignation letter to Chiranjeevi, who after reading it through, put it away in a folder.
Some members wanted even party vice-president Devender Goud to resign. Hurt by their comments, Goud is understood to have said he didn’t care for the position and walked out in a huff. The meeting was convened to find out reasons for winning a paltry 18 Assembly seats and drawing a blank in Lok Sabha polls. Chiranjeevi, who heads the PAC, listened to all but later backed Aravind, who is also his brother-in-law.
‘‘Aravind, in tune with our social justice slogan, played an important role in allotment of tickets to over 100 BCs who were not financially well off. The allegation that tickets were sold to aspirants is baseless. We do not stoop to that level. Some forces seem to be working actively to malign Aravind’s image,’’ Chiranjeevi told reporters here.
