There was a time when the entire state and almost all the parties had only one song –Telangana. That was the tool which brought about many changes in the political equations and leaders. Now, the situation in the Telangana region and the voter pulse has become quite crucial for all.

It was said that Mahakootami had a good image among the locals since the unified image and all parties singing the same slogan was inspiring. But with KCR’s rupture with TDP in recent stunt of parting ways with Mahakootami and the aftermath, this is said to have created some trouble. The impression of people on KCR has gone to dogs and his strengths to play vital role in alliance with TDP are also under question.

The locals are now saying that it is better to stick to Congress that seems more stable. This way, KCR has created advantage for congress with his jumping out signals and the real result will be known once the polling is done.

PRP offices easy targets!

Praja Rajyam Party offices all over the state have become targets of disgruntled party workers, who could not get tickets in the elections.

Some of the offices in Mahbubnagar, Warangal and some other parts of the state have been set afire by the angry party workers. They were gutted within minutes, because the party offices look like film settings; made of plywood and artificial material. Why the district offices, even the PRP head office at Jubilee Hills simply looks like a cinema setting. And it doesn’t take 15 minutes to raze it to the ground, say party leaders.

No wonder, the party workers feel that there is artificiality everywhere and like in films, money matters in politics, too. That is why, they are showing their anger at the party offices!

Chiranjeevi Uses ‘Stalin Mantra’

Chiranjeevi used his most famous Stalin Mantra today in his road show. You may wonder what that mantra is. Just recall his movie ‘Stalin’ in which he preached the idea of ‘chain helping’.

He asks everyone to help any three by preaching them to help three each. That Utopian idea was preached in the film Stalin which is used by Chiranjeevi today. He asked everyone to vote for PRP and also tell three each to vote for the same. He promised that the people would see bright future by doing so.

“Jr NTR, a scapegoat in Babu politics”

Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi, widow of Telugu Desam founder president late N T Rama Rao, does not lose any opportunity to take a dig at party president N Chandrababu Naidu.

On Sunday, she called on Jr NTR, who was injured in a road mishap a couple of days ago and wished him speedy recovery. She said she had all the sympathies for Jr NTR, who resembled his grandfather NTR.

“Unfortunately, this boy has been made a scapegoat in the hands of Chandrababu, who is out to damage his career. For his selfish political gains, Naidu can go to any extent,” he said.

Lakshmi Parvathi offered to hand over her NTR-TDP party to Jr NTR, if he wanted. “He has a bright future in films and politics,” she said. What do you say, Jr NTR?

Chiru’s White House At Rs 1 Lakh Per Month

PRP Chief Chiranjeevi is stepping into White House. Well, that’s not the one located in Washington DC. It’s in Tirupathi. The house is called White House by locals as that was built in that style. That belongs to Sasidhar Reddy, the owner of a private hospital.

Chiranjeevi decided to stay in Tirupathi and close to people during the time of elections and hence asked his people to search for a house in Tirupathi. The PRP crew searched for various houses and finally things have got zeroed in on this 3000 Sft house located in Khadi Colony that happens to be the heart of the city.

Initially Sasidhar Reddy found reluctant to rent his house but after series of negotiations and offers have gave that house just for 2 months at Rs 1 lakh per month. Chiranjeevi is taking the possession of this house on 2nd April as the day is auspicious because of Saptami. A temporary road was laid in front of this house by PRP people only.

Chiranjeevi sees a silent revolution

Kakinada: Reiterating the need to end two-party rule in Andhra Pradesh, Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi said on Saturday that his party was borne out of the people’s desire for a change in the political establishment and it was up to them to choose between PRP and the other major parties.

Much-needed fillip

The PRP has immeasurable love of people and it was therefore confident of its victory in the coming elections. The allotment of a common symbol by Election Commission gave the much-needed fillip to the PRP at the right time, he asserted.

Speaking at a roadshow at Sarpavaram Junction here, he said both the Congress and the TDP governments were inefficient and the people’s living conditions deteriorated as a consequence.

“It is imperative that the two main parties should be taught a lesson lest the people’s sufferings should increase.” The plight of working class was the worst as successive governments implemented policies which aggravated the problems. The Kakinada Special Economic Zone and coastal industrial corridor resulted in large-scale displacement of farmers and fishermen.

Converting fertile lands for industrial development created ecological imbalances, he alleged.

‘Silent revolution’

Mr. Chiranjeevi said the Congress and the TDP, which belittled the PRP as an insignificant entity, should see for themselves the spontaneous support it was getting from the masses and come to a conclusion whether it was just a fluke or a silent revolution bound to catapult PRP to power. He later proceeded to Tallarevu, Draksharamam, Ramachandrapuram, Mandapeta, Anaparthi and Rajanagaram.

YSR Supporting BJP Kishan Reddy!

Congress party men say that YSR is indirectly supporting BJP Kishan Reddy by fielding a weak candidate against him in Amberpet Constituency of Hyderabad. Md Fareeduddin, an unknown face for Amberpet people who hails from Medak was given the ticket. Apart from this, the constituency is Hindu-dominated and it is almost sure that Fareeduddin would lose the seat for Kishan Reddy, the only sitting MLA from BJP in the state.

YSR has conferred the ticket for a Muslim to soothe minorities in macro level but the ulterior motive is not to disturb Kishan Redy, say sources.

It is said that the reason behind it is YSR’s friendship with Gali Janardana Reddy, the BJP Minister in Karnakata who is rich and also holds a mining industry in Cuddapah where YSR has granted 17000 acres of land at cheaper price to set up an industry worth Rs 25000 Cr in May 2007.

Sources say that Gali Janaradana Reddy’s words and funds are changing the ideas of YSR and hence he is fielding weak candidates against BJP candidates in some places. Gali Janardana Reddy is the king maker in Karnataka who established BJP government and his influence is also working out to big extent in AP as well. He is exercising full power in Rayalaseema as many say that he is investing big sum on Congress candidates of that area to make them win to continue healthy relation with YSR. Gali is a BJP leader in Karnataka and once he crosses border and enters Rayalaseema, he a Congress’ person.

CPI names 14 Assembly nominees

The CPI secretary, Mr K. Narayana, expressed unhappiness over the TD president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu’s, decision to allot only 14 Assembly seats to the Left ally. “We are unhappy at the way our party has been treated. We deserve more seats. But in the interests of alliance, we are accepting it,” Mr Narayana said.

The CPI(M) leader, Mr B.V. Raghavulu, too expressed displeasure over delay in finalising the seats for the party. He alleged TRS was being favoured.

Meanwhile, protests by those who did not get the tickets continued. Sources in the TD said that actor Krishna was in touch with Mr Naidu over allotment of tickets to brother Adiseshagiri Rao and wife Vijayanirmala. Rumours are also afloat that former minister Mareappa may also join the TD.

Allu Aravind to contest from Anakapalli

The announcement of the first list of candidates by the Prajarajyam Party after a long wait was greeted with protests here on Friday.

After much suspense, PRP president Chiranjeevi released the first list of 100 assembly and nine Lok Sabha seats at Jaggampet in East Godavari. Chiranjeevi would himself contest from Tirupati assembly seat in the second phase while his brother-in-law Allu Aravind is to contest from the Anakapalli Lok Sabha seat.

The announcement was greeted with a howl of protests by failed aspirants at the party office at Jubilee Hills here. Ticket seekers from the Maheshwaram assembly seat sat on an indefinite dharna at the party office demanding that one of them should be given the seat. The PRP has nominated A V N Reddy from that seat. The protesters relented only after PRP president Chiranjeevi spoke to them from East Godavari.

Chiranjeevi said his party had allotted 48 assembly seats to BCs, 13 to SCs, seven to STs, five to minorities and 27 to other classes, in line with the party’s philosophy of social justice to all. He reiterated that the PRP was committed to give 100 seats to BCs. In Tirupati assembly seat, the PRP chief would pitch himself against two local strongmen — B Karunakar Reddy of the Congress and Sankar Reddy of the TDP.

PRP believes in bringing about change along with social justice, he says

VINUKONDA (GUNTUR Dt.): Praja Rajyam Party leader Pavan Kalyan has given a call to Communist Party of India (Maoist) activists to come into the mainstream of society to bring about a peaceful change by fighting against corruption.

Addressing a large gathering at the market centre in the town, kicking off his two-day road show in Palnadu area of Guntur district on Saturday, he said that naxalites should not remain in the forests or go underground if they had real zeal to cleanse the society of criminals, cheats and corrupt people.

‘For social change’

He said that revolutionary movements had begun due to the alleged inefficient administration of the State, with corrupt politicians at the helm of affairs.

The Praja Rajyam Party was one such political party that believed in bringing a change in the society with social justice, he added

Revolution was the natural outcome of oppression of some classes, he said in his film style of dialogue delivery, which brought cheers from the people.

He identified drinking water as the main problem that was not addressed by the successive governments and promised to bring drinking water along with irrigation water to towns so that parched throats could be quenched. While there was good response to his speech in Vinukonda town at other places till he reached Dachepalli there was lukewarm response with hardly some hundreds of people attending his meetings.

Palnadu region development would be on top of the party’s agency, he said and added that the floor of the Assembly would be the future battleground to do justice to the downtrodden and SC, ST and BCs.

The Yuva Rajyam district convener Tulasi Dharma Charan and party ticket aspirant Ammireddy Anji Reddy went round with him. He will continue his journey from Dachepalli to Nagarjuna Sagar on Sunday.

Meanwhile, there were some tense moments at Karempudi when Praja Rajyam Party workers manhandled a videographer of a satellite news channel at a temple close to the cement factory here, while he was filming the cine actor Pavan Kalyan praying there by breaking a coconut on Saturday evening.

The PRP Youth wing president Pavan Kalyan’s supporters took strong objection to the I-News videographer Sheik Asmathullah filming the scenes and hit him on his forehead leading to bleeding injuries. When the other media persons came to know of this, all of them boycotted the coverage of Pavan Kalyan’s tour of Palnadu region in Guntur district and sat on a dharna on the road here.

After half-an-hour of dharna, the Guntur district Yuva Rajyam convener Tulasi Charan talked to the media persons and tendered an apology for the incident and the roadshow of the PRP began after a 45-minute delay.
