Chiru calls Cong, TDP anti-workers

ap21239299689

Prajarajyam president K Chiranjeevi on Friday lashed out at the TDP and Congress for trampling upon the rights of workers by encouraging outsourcing of jobs.

Participating in the May Day celebrations at the party office, here, Chiranjeevi accused both the previous governments of helping middlemen make a fortune out of the outsourcing sector and deprive workers of their rightful share. “While one party encouraged the outsourcing system for nine years, the other party promoted the `dalari system’. I feel sad that both the governments never made an attempt to improve the living conditions to the working classes. When Prajarajyam comes to power, you will see a radical shift of the administration in favour of the working class,” he said.

Chiranjeevi announced the setting up of two additional wings of the party — Karmika Rajyam and Karshaka Rajyam — which would specifically focus on problems related to industrial workers and farmers. He said May 16 would usher in a new work culture among all classes across the state.

The PRP president made the most of May Day by reviewing the party’s performance with leaders from Anantapur, Adilabad, Kurnool, Karimnagar and Guntur. Though most of the leaders were happy to meet the party president, none of them could match his confidence levels on the party sweeping to power. However, convenors and contestants from Anantapur and Adilabad told the PRP chief that a wave similar to 1983 (when NTR rode to power) was prevalent in their respective districts.

All district convenors who participated in the review meeting claimed that there was indeed a silent revolution which could not be gauged. Party leader T Devender Goud was present at the review meeting of Karimnagar district in the evening.

Meanwhile, the party demanded an enquiry into all projects that were taken up after the Congress came to power, in the wake of the mishap in Kurnool. “The mishap speaks volumes of the callousness with which the Congress government is executing projects in the state. The Congress government has failed to ensure minimum quality in the works taken up under `Jalayagnam’. We demand a detailed enquiry into the quality of works carried out for various projects in the state,” said party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma.

At another press conference, party general secretary Jalli Siddaiah criticised civil supplies minister Kasu Krishna Reddy for claiming that people had no complaints regarding prices of essential commodities as they were under control. The PRP demanded an unconditinal apology from the minister for making irresponsible statements.

Naidu, Chiru outdo Reds

cbn_chiru11240795927

The Telugu Desam chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, and the Praja Rajyam supremo, Mr Chiranjeevi, outdid the Communists in endorsing the cause of the working class on May
Day.
Both the leaders lavishly used Leftist jargon while addressing workers and trade unionists at their respective party
offices.
“Long live workers unity and trade unionism,” was the slogan mouthed by both the leaders to round off their speeches. It was a different take for these two leaders who had spent much of their time in the last few weeks castigating their political rivals on the campaign
trail.
On May Day they played trade union leaders to perfection by speaking about the travails of the working class, economic inequality and the need for redistribution of wealth.
Mr Naidu called upon the labourers across the world to wage a fight against the governments in unison to achieve their reasonable demands. Chiranjeevi also set up Karmika Rajyam, a front organisation of his party exclusively for labourers.
Interestingly, when Mr Naidu and Chiranjeevi tried to outdo Communist leaders with their revolutionary speeches, the CPI(M) state secretary, Mr B.V. Raghavulu, participated in May Day celebrations in his party office with his trademark white dress.
Meanwhile, the NTR Bhavan, the TD headquarters, looked bright with a new coat of yellow paint in which the party name was emblazoned in red letters, as if to advertise the party’s friendship with the Left.
The ruling Congress also celebrated May Day at Gandhi Bhavan with pomp and gaiety.
The PCC chief, Mr D. Srinivas, addressed pro-Congress unions and said it was the United Progressive Alliance government which implemented pro-working class policies in the
country.
Mr Naidu told mediapersons that land distribution to the poor would be his first priority after coming to power. “I will think about other schemes only after giving house sites to all the poor persons in the state,” he said.

Nagababu To Jump Out From PRP

nagababu

Megabrother Nagababu who was seen all over during the earlier days of the formation of the Praja Rajyam Party is said to have worked extensively for the setting up of the party. It is now being headed by his brother megastar Chiranjeevi and his other brother Pawan Kalyan is heading Yuvarajyam, the youth wing.

It is known that PRP has been riddled by controversies and there were many who had walked out of the party due to dissent. It now looks like megabrother Nagababu might soon join the fray if his statement can be read between the lines.

It was during the Parakala Prabhakar controversy when Nagababu was approached and asked his opinion. Megabrother stated that even if he or Pawan are not there in the party, it will not affect the Praja Rajyam’s presence. Many said that Nagababu’s statement also meant that it was due to the presence of Allu Aravind and his domination that even their presence was not being recognized so a jump out might happen soon. It is good that Nagababu has just ‘jump out’ idea but not ‘jumping into other party’.

Chiru stumped by PR analysis

chirutrain1241100015

The Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi was stumped by his partymen’s assessment that the Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, would lose to party candidate Mr Subramanyam in Kuppam.

Chiranjeevi, who reviewed likely electoral gains, losses and other related issues with the party’s Assembly and LS candidates, was given a rosy picture about all constituencies.

He was told by Chittoor Lok Sabha and Assembly candidates that the party would win seven seats and that even the TD chief might lose to the party candidate in Kuppam. The actor-turned-politician was reportedly taken aback.

“If your assessment is correct, we will get not less than 240 seats. I was wrong in saying that we will get 160 seats. Please don’t give out information as you do to the press. I want a fair and correct assessment of things and not an exaggerated one,” he reportedly commented when told that Mr Naidu would lose to their party candidate.

“Your correct information will help me to restructure the party and plug loopholes,” he added.

He reportedly blushed when a party leader from Kadapa stated that the party would win five Assembly seats. In another extreme statement, the party spokesman Mr Vinay Kumar said the party would form the government and the swearing in ceremony would be held on May 17 with Chiranjeevi as CM!

Mithra denies quitting PRP

mitra1

Praja Rajyam spokesperson P. Mithra on Wednesday denied reports that he was resigning from the party, saying there was no truth in them.

Briefing reporters on the review meetings held by party president Chiranjeevi with Assembly and Lok Sabha nominees of Nalgonda, Khammam and Warangal districts, he said that his was a small role in the party.

Referring to Chiranjeevi’s comment that there was no organisation without Mithra, he said the party was not dependent on a single individual.

Review meetings
Referring to the review meetings, he said the response, the lapses if any, the advantages and what precautions need to be taken in future were discussed at the meetings with the candidates.

Problems like lack of time for campaigning were identified in some places.

Feedback
The feedback from the candidates was that the party would win maximum seats in the three districts. After completing the entire exercise of reviewing every district, the party would be in a position to state who was its rival.
