Chiranjeevi Send a Message to Students and Youth

At Narsampet, talking to hugely gathered youth who have assembled every possible inch to have glimpse of Chiru, he said “You are budding Engineers, Doctors, Advocates, IAS and IPS Officers, Please become a responsible citizens of society. The future of the country is in your hands; you need to bring up well and make the country proud, but do not fall for pretty attractions, never ever become CORRUPT. My special wishes to all of you, I received your petition for improved facilities, I am recording it in my personal file, on returning to power, we will positively solve your issues.

Chiru said that he is delighted at response and recalled Swami Vivekananda’s Quote “Stand up, be bold, be strong. Take the whole responsibility on your own shoulders, and know that you are the creator of your own destiny. All the strength and succor you want is within yourselves. Therefore, make your own future.”

Chiranjeevi asked one and all to use the most power full tool they have the Vote, to change future and to be part of CHANGE. He added “You have seen many people, traditional political leaders. All the time we were cheated, now see your man in politics, the time has come to show your strength. We are committed for social justice”.

Chiranjeevi drew huge crowds in all the areas in Karimnagar and Warangal districts, which are considered to be TRS bastions. The people’s response to Chiranjeevi’s speeches was also tremendous and the local TRS, BJP, TDP and Cong leaders felt that they would lose hold on their areas

Chiranjeevi Between Confidence And Fears

Megastar Chiranjeevi who is currently busy with the touring of the Telangana region as part of his ‘Praja Ankita’ yatra has been growing in confidence with each meeting of his and his voice has been increasing its decibels at a greater pitch with more and more crowds flocking to see him.

While this is the brighter side, there is also a dark side to the coin, insiders say. Apparently, Chiru is having his own fears as to how much of this population will actually be converted into votes when the real time comes for the elections. What is making things worse for him is the laid back attitude of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.

While TDP is running from pillar to post with its ‘Yuvagarjana’ and Chiru is roasting in the sun with his ‘Praja Ankita’ yatra, YS has been ushering his endearing smiles and till date they have not taken any major step towards the forthcoming elections. Reports say that YS is double confident of Congress coming back to power and this news having reached the ears of Chiru has been giving him some sleepless nights.

TD picks NTR films to blunt Chiru effect

In yet another attempt to blunt the glamour quotient of film star Chiranjeevi, Telugu Desam party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu has commissioned a CD, “Sarileru Neekevvaru”, (literally there is none to match you) full of film clips of NTR in a variety of roles.

The well-produced 70- minute “film on films of NTR”, released by Mr. Naidu and screened at the party office for media persons on Monday, is sure to be a big hit among his fans and the party cadre alike. The film would be showed for the first time to people at the party’s prestigious event, ‘Yuva Garjana’ at Guntur on November 5.

The film captures the acting genre of the thespian, his versatility in living the roles of mythological characters as well as social reformer with élan and more appropriately the underlying social and political message. Clearly it tries to show NTR as the “greatest ever in the history of Telugu films” and that nobody could match him however much he may try. Apparently the TDP wants to invoke NTR, after ignoring him for quite a few years, to recollect and remind the Telugu audience that Chiranjeevi, for all his talent both possessed and acquired, was no match to the acting skills and political philosophy of NTR. After roping in film stars in NTR’s family, Mr. Naidu seem to have come up with another masterstroke of using NTR films to shrug off challenge from Chiranjeevi.

From the early film of 1953 “Jayasimha” in which NTR makes a mention of Telugu Desam for the first time to “Major Chandrakanth”, the film has all the famous roles he immortalised not leaving his powerful dialogues.

No wonder, Mr. Naidu said in almost every character NTR portrayed, it was loaded with social message and this has gone into the formation of Telugu Desam.

Praja Rajyam will fight for Telangana Bill if voted to power

The Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) will fight for introduction of bill on Telangana in Parliament if voted to power in the upcoming elections, party spokesperson Dr Mitra has said. The PRP treats Telangana as an issue of self-respect, he said. Dr Mitra toured in Khammam and Warangal districts Monday to survey the route for the party president’s ongoing yatra. Speaking to mediapersons, Mitra claimed that the PRP had made its stand on Telangana clear. ‘‘The Congress and the TDP have been trying to gain political mileage from Telangana issue,’’ he criticised. The Congress had formed an alliance with the TRS during last elections and later shelved the Telangana issue, he said and alleged that the Congress leaders were trying to cheat the voters by saying that decision on the issue will be taken by AICC president Sonia Gandhi.

Training guns on the TDP, he said the party which had advocated integrity of the State during last elections was speaking favourably regarding separate Telangana only for votes. ‘‘Both the parties lack commitment to Telangana,’’ he said.

Chiranjeevi dares Congress to clear stand on Telangana

Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi dared the Congress to come out clear on the Telangana issue. “We said we are for a separate State. We said we will not obstruct formation of new State. We said we respect the sentiments and self-respect of people of Telangana. What more clarity do you want from me,” he sought to know from the Congress leaders as the people cheered in jubilation.

People continued to throng in large numbers to welcome Praja Rajyam leader on the second day of his tour in rural areas of the district. He addressed road shows at Gudepad cross roads, Parkal chowrastha, bus stand area and all along the road until he crossed over to proceed towards Regonda mandal headquarters.

Mr. Chiranjeevi was speechless on occasions and just he waved at the multitude of crowds who vied to see him in real life.

En route, the TRS workers sporting flags protested demanding him to say ‘Jai Telangana’. Irked at such protests,

Mr. Chiranjeevi said he was very clear on the issue. “It is the Congress party which promised separate Telangana. It is the Congress leaders who owned the TRS flag and come to people. Let us all question the Congress party on the issue,” he told the people.

Wearing a broad smile and waving at the people, Mr. Chiranjeevi drove past the villages and junctions as hundreds of vehicles followed him. The aspiring candidates put up a good show erecting huge flexi boards with the photographs of Mr Chiranjeevi and themselves at all important road corners.

At the Parkal, Mr. Chiranjeevi reminded the farmers of gloomy days when several of them were forced to commit suicides. He said lack of minimum support price failed their hopes and drove them to extremes.

He promised to learn more about their plight as he proceeded in the district. After crossing the Parkal town, Mr Chiranjeevi walked into the cotton field and interacted with a farmer there.

Earlier in the day, several leaders from the district and a group of doctors led by noted paediatrician M. Seshu Madhav called on him and apprised him of the public response to the party.

Chiranjeevi trains guns on Andhra Pradesh CM

Amidst minor protests from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) president Chiranjeevi today flayed Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy saying that he failed to get adequate support price to the farmers though he always claimed that he was ‘farmer-friendly.’

However, the Nava Telangana Party declared its support to the PRP and Chiranjeevi got a rousing reception at the borders of the Warangal district.

Addressing a series of meetings at Manakondur, Karimnagar town and other places, during his road show in the district, as part of the second leg of his Praja Ankita Yatra, he alleged that the ruling Congress failed miserably in coming to the rescue of the farmers.

The Sriram Sagar project (SRSP) is located in the district but people in villages have not been getting drinking water and farmers not getting water for irrigation. ‘‘The district could not utilise 30 TMC water due to the State Government’s failure in maintaining the project’s canals,’’ he said. He lamented that it was the farmer alone who could not decide the price of his produce while all others manufacturing different products could decide the prices of their products. ‘‘The Punjab Government is giving substantial support price to the farmers where our rulers pay meagre amounts,’’ he said.

Congress is in power at the Centre and in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra but the Chief Minister could not stop construction of Babhali and other projects in Maharastra, he said.

Chiranjeevi said that he didn’t had any intention to join politics till an year ago but was invited by people to serve them.

Likening the coming elections to an examination, he urged the people to pass his party with a distinction and assured first class life if voted to power.

The PRP leaders of Warangal organised cultural activities at Anantasagar, the entry point to the district. Women greeted him with Bonalu and danced Batukamma.

WARANGAL: Chiru’s yatra entered into Warangal district at 8:15 p.m. at Hasanparti mandal headquarters. He was given a warm welcome by the PRP leaders.

The TRS leaders tried to obstruct Chiranjeevi’s yatra at Hasanparti mandal headquarters demanding that he make his party’s stand clear on the contentious Telangana issue. Commotion prevailed for some time when the fans of Chiru and the TRS activists jostled with each other. However, police intervened and sent the TRS men away. The TRS cadre tried to obstruct Chiranjeevi’s yatra at other places including Beemaram, University cross roads and Ambedkar centres.

The PRP president said that youth and women were the major strength to his party. He participated in roadshows till 10:00 p.m.

PRP leaders K Varda Reddy, Dr Lakshmi Prasad, Manda Ilaiah, Errabelli Pradeep Rao, B Sampath Kumar, Karate Prabhakar, Mandadi Ravinder Reddy and others accompanied him.

Chiranjeevi Runs into Rough Weather

As Chiranjeevi goes deeper into Telangana, he seems to be getting a taste of a politician’s life. A day after taking a ‘no-objection’ stand on the vexed issue, the star received more brickbats than laurels.

In Godavarikhani on Saturday, his ratham came up against obstinate Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) workers who insisted that he join their chorus of ‘Jai Telangana.’ Caught offguard but without losing composure, Chiru rejected their demand repeating verbatim what he had said on Friday, adding a barb against the Chief Minister.

‘‘I don’t behave like the present Chief Minister. If the Centre proposes, I won’t oppose it,’’ he asserted.

But more was to come. This time not from the TRS but the TDP. And, taking on Chiru was none other than party chief N Chandrababu Naidu. In his first direct attack on the Praja Rajyam founder, the former chief minister was merciless and straight to the point in his trademark style. ‘‘He is just a student in politics,’’ dismissed Naidu, adding, ‘‘he has to study a lot. He is merely reading out prepared speeches.’’ The immediate provocation for the outburst was Chiru’s statement that the TDP, a champion of one-child norm (integrated State) till recently, was advocating a two-child norm (Telangana) now. Terming his remarks as ‘childish,’ Naidu, the strategist, wondered how the star could compare Telangana to family planning slogans! The terrain is rough and the test crucial.

A tour of Telangana could be baptism by fire for Chiru, the politician.

Can’t Andhra Farmers Become Rich

With more and more parties opting for Telangana concept with the sole purpose of attaining power, it was more than obvious that even megastar Chiranjeevi would do the same thing while the truth is it really does not matter how it affects him or his party ideology that believes in service.

However, he has now given his green signal to welcome if the decision has been taken and during one of his public meets that he has been undertaking as part of his ‘Praja Ankita’ Yatra, Chiru, off the record said that why is it that only the farmers in Telangana need to become rich by selling barren lands to real estate ventures and software companies. He added it seems that something like that can also happen in the Andhra region so in a way he was indicating it was a good thing.

However, the wise men say that there are countless number of lands his brother Pawan Kalyan possesses around Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. And then there is also news that Chiru has got some countless acres of lands on proxy names. So whether Telangana is formed or not, they have a win-win situation so nothing really should affect them in person any way.

Chiranjeevi Expresses Concern Over Price Rise

Price rise was the main theme highlighted by actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi during his roadshow in the Telangana heartland on Sunday.

“Common people are increasingly finding it difficult to lead a decent life due to sky-rocketing prices of essential items. Failure of governments is responsible for this,” he said.

On the third day of the second leg of his mass-contact programme, christened ‘Praja Ankita Yatra’, Chiranjeevi held road shows at Karimnagar, Alaganur, Manakondur and Huzurabad among other places in the district.

The yatra received enthusiastic response from people at several places as the Praja Rajyam Party founder has already taken a favourable stand on the separate statehood.

Karimnagar is considered the hotbed of separate Telangana movement.

Meanwhile, the Praja Rajyam spokesman P Mithra has rejected the criticism of some political leaders that Chiranjeevi’s statement endorsing the statehood demand lacked clarity.

“Whatever he has said at Jagitial on the issue is final. We have clarity. The important point in our stand is that we are for social justice,” he said.

Announcing his party’s position on the Telangana demand, Chiranjeevi had asserted that the initiative for the formation of separate state has to come from the Central government.

“The truth is that the Centre has to take the decision on formation of separate Telangana. If there is any proposal from the Centre in this regard, we will welcome that. Praja Rajyam would not stand in the way of formation of Telangana state.”

Chiranjeevi would continue his roadshow tomorrow in Warangal district.

Chiranjeevi Road Show Houseful in Warangal

Like a torrent, people poured on to the roads. The crowds spilled all over, from the trees, building and traffic dividers. Cutting across party affiliations, people thronged to catch a glimpse of Praja Rajyam leader Chiranjeevi when he arrived in Warangal district for his three-day tour on Sunday evening.

With great excitement people gathered at every traffic junction several hours before to see their matinee idol and listen to his message. The whole town was colourfully decorated with festoons and huge glow sign boards featuring photographs of Chiranjeevi and local leaders. Under the glowing sign boards, people gathered at several places all along the route from Hasanparthy to Hanamkonda chowrastha. They virtually blocked the road preventing vehicular traffic. The police who were in large numbers had a tough time with the crowds swelling each passing moment.

As the arrival of Mr. Chiranjeevi was delayed by several hours, the crowds grew with people from surrounding villages on either side of the roads making a beeline to see and listen to their favourite actor.

Youth came in great numbers while the women appeared thin. Local leaders tried their best to show their strength by mobilising people and putting up large banners and party flags at every possible point en route.

‘Vote for change’

Karimnagar Staff Reporter adds: Blaming the State government for the escalation of prices of all essential commodities and burdening the people, Chiranjeevi promised to end their woes if Praja Rajyam is elected to power.

Launching his last lap of the four-day Praja Ankhita yatra in Karimnagar town, he also flayed the State government for failing to provide minimum facilities such as proper roads, drinking water, RTC buses, uninterrupted power supply etc to the citizens. Addressing the women, who attended in large numbers at the roadshow near Kaman crossroads, he said that they were facing several hardships to run their families. People were facing problems due to the inefficient performance of the State government and the time has come for changing the government, he said.

Quality services

He vowed to would provide quality education and health services and strive to bring about a social change.

“Why elect the same person when there is no change”, he questioned and called upon the people to give a chance to Praja Rajyam to bring the ‘change’ in the society.

Referring to the presence of large number of youth, he asked them to enrol themselves in the voters list and play a responsible role. Hailing the communal harmony in Karimnagar district, he said that he would accord priority in the allocation of party tickets in the elections and elect Muslims as public representatives.

He also promised to allocate 10 acres of land to Idgah in Karimnagar town after attaining power.
