Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur : Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the President of India inaugurated the then University of Jodhpur on 24th August, 1962 Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur was established in 1962 as University of Jodhpur. There are four Government Colleges of Jodhpur became part of the UniversityJai Narain Vyas University is a residential university but the Colleges situated within the municipal limits of Jodhpur are affiliated to the University. Date of UGC recognition as university July 14, 1962.

XAT Notification 2011 Had Been Announced

XLRI Jamshedpur has announced the dates for XAT 2011 entrance exam. The exam will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2011. The B-school has published the XAT 2011 notification in leading newspapers across India. According to the notification the registration process is open from today, September 1, 2010 and the last date for sending your application is Tuesday, November 30, 2010.

The exam dates are no surprise to the readers of MBAUniverse.com as the number one MBA portal had broken the news on July 19 itself. In an exclusive communication with MBAUniverse.com, Prof. Pranabesh Ray, Dean – Academics of XLRI had informed that XAT 2011 is going to be held on Sunday, January 2, 2011. XAT is held on the first Sunday of January every year.

XAT is the entrance exam for the B Schools XLRI Jamshedpur, XIM Bhubaneswar, Goa Institute Management, SPJIMR Mumbai, LIBA Chennai, Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, XIME Bangalore

XAT Eligibility

Candidates must have a bachelors degree under 10+2+3 system from a recognized university or a deemed university. Candidates completing final year examination are also eligible to apply.

Important Dates for XAT

XAT 2010 was held on Sunday, January 3, 2010. On the basis of the important dates for XAT 2010, the expected deadlines for XAT 2011 are as follows:

XAT 2011 Exam Date: Sunday, January 2, 2011.

Registration for XAT 2011: Wednesday, September 1, 2010 to Monday, November 30, 2010

XAT Result: By January 31, 2011.

he National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) formerly known as National Open School (NOS) was established in November,1989 as an autonomous organisation in pursuance of National Policy on Education 1986 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD), Government of India. NIOS is providing a number of Vocational, Life Enrichment and community oriented courses besides General and Academic Courses at Secondary and Senior Secondary level.

It also offers Elementary level Courses through its Open Basic Education Programmes (OBE).Government of India through a gazette notification vested NIOS with the authority to examine and certify learners registered with it upto pre degree level courses.

NIOS is an Open School to cater to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level. It was started as a project with in-built flexibilities by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 1979. In 1986, the National Policy on Education suggested strengthening of Open School System for extending open learning facilities in a phased manner at secondary level all over the country as an independent system with its own curriculum and examination leading to certification.

In July 2002, the Ministry of Human Resource Development amended the nomenclature of the organisation from the National Open School (NOS) to the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with a mission to provide relevant continuing education at school stage, up to pre-degree level through Open Learning system to prioritized client groups as an alternative to formal system, in pursuance of the normative national policy documents and in response to the need assessments of the people, and through it to make its share of contribution
