It was no surprise that Praja Rajyam Party general secretary Parakala Prabhakar resigned from the party, but what surprised everybody was why he had chosen the PRP office to attack Chiranjeevi.
It is rather a bold step, as all those who quit the party so far, including vice-president C Anjaneya Reddy, did not speak to the media at the PRP office. Once they submitted their resignations, they did not go the party office at all.
But Parakala chose to address a press conference on the same dais, where Chiranjeevi admitted him into the party and made him party’s official spokesman. Whether it is a parting shot or an idea to get more publicity, Parakala criticised Chiranjeevi in the PRP office. And it was telecast live. He described that PRP was not a party, but a company and he would not fit into the company activities. “I have come from the family of freedom fighters. I don’t know how to act like these people. So, I am quitting,” he said.
