
Elections to Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh will be held in two phases in April, according to the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India on Monday afternoon.
According to the schedule, elections will be held in two phases – first phase on April 16 and second phase on April 23. The counting for Assembly elections will be held a couple of days after the second phase of polling is held, while for Lok Sabha polls, the counting will be held on May 16.
In the first phase, Telangana and Uttarandhra will go to polls and in the second phase, elections will be held in rest of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. The Assembly has to be constituted before May 13.
