In a bid to cash in on the outrage of Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi against the ruling Congress party, Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi on Monday declared that his party was not against categorisation of SCs.

All these days, Chiranjeevi has been under the impression that MRPS is hand in glove with the Congress party and that Manda Krishna is a pocket-man of Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. That is the reason why he has been silent on SC categorisation. He thought his silence on this issue would also bring Malas closer to PRP.

However, after Manda Krishna vowed to defeat the Congress and support only those parties which support the SC categorisation, Chiranjeevi changed his strategy. Moreover, Manda Krishna on Sunday criticised PRP for not talking about SC categorisation while harping on social justice.

So, Chiranjeevi had no option but to come out openly in support of Manda Krishna’s demand, saying that his party would make a resolution to that effect, if needed. He is hopeful that MRPS would back PRP in the elections.
