Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi is all set to hit the roads again from tomorrow albeit in a different way.
Unlike the past he is going to address public meetings from tomorrow in Nalgonda and Medak districts. His tour will end on Dec 23.
Praja Rajyam has changed its mass contact programme from road shows to public meetings in the wake of the High court’s no to road shows.
The modified mass contact programme christened as Praja Ankita Sabhas would take off tomorrow in Nalgonda district. Party leaders issued strict guidelines to the organisers to adhere to the Court’s directive. Chiranjeevi would first offers prayers at the Yadagirigutta temple before launching his tour.
According to the schedule released by his office, Chiranjeevi would address meetings at Yadagirigutta at 10.30 a.m.
Bhuvanagiri at 12.00 noon, Pochampalli at 3.30 p.m. tomorrow and would return to Hyderabad in the night. He will address public meetings at Choutuppal, Yellareddyguda and Nakirekal on December 19.
After addressing a meeting at Suryapet at 5.00 pm, Chiranjeevi would halt there for the night.
On the following day, meetings would be held at Kodada (11.30 a.m.), Huzurnagar (1.30 p.m.), Miryalaguda (4.00 p.m.), Nalgonda (6.30 p.m.) and would return to the City. The party core committee met at the residence of Chiranjeevi today and discussed about the nitty-gritty of the tour programme.
When the Praja Ankita Yatra ended on November 21, several developments took place in the political arena of the State. Left parties have firmed up their bond with the TDP and are trying to get the TRS into their fold.
The Mumbai blasts, electoral results in five states, acid attack and harassment incidents on women has charged the political weather to a significant level. While farmers problems, corruption and bad governance took the centerstage in the Praja Ankita Yatra, now protection to women, Babhali issue, corruption in irrigation projects may figure in the Praja Ankita Sabhas. With attacks from Chief Minister and Opposition leadera on the rise on the PRP, Chiranjeeiv may have to defend his party in a fitting manner.
